How do you feel about whats posted below. Take it from my point of view. Larger Networks have tried and failed to hit sucess with the same numbers as this. Major newworks expand contracts for shows that have 3-5 million.
Let alone a massive impressive 10 million viewers a week. That's more then almost virtually every other show other there. The show was created on AMC of all channels. You wouldn't expect it to be this big of it.
I think it will boost tell tale games. People are interested and that drives products made off this up. It's just wild. I never a lesser known network take on this game of viewership without it being on a well known major well known place.

There are a billion zombie shooters, and even games that didn't originally have anything to do with zombies have had DLC/expansions which add zombies to them.
Seriously, what's the deal?
The series really isn't about the Zombies. It's about the people. "The Walking Dead" references the people, not the zombies.
It's a Drama/Action/Thriller with Zombies that usually turns out BAD for the main characters. Of course people will like it.
I know for the US Netflix has The Walking Dead. One of my co-workers watched it on there cause he couldn't see it on TV either. Dunno about the UK but hopefully it is.
It's on a roll right now and it sells, so yeah, everyone's cashing in.
I keep waiting for the bubble to burst, but it never seems to. One day though...
Yes, but why?
I'd rather kill aliens than zombies. By aliens, I mean sci-fi style aliens (eg. Crysis, Halo, etc.) not disgusting horror-movie aliens.
Come to think of it, that's probably one of the reasons why I never liked Half-Life.
Honestly, I blame vampires.
Twilight and True Blood (and before then, Anne Rice) brought about a strong trend of vampires in popular culture. But many people can't stand the overly brooding, sleek, goth, sexualized, fetishistic version of vampires so there was a backlash. And, when it comes to horror monsters, what's the tonally opposite of vampires? Disgusting, ravenous, mindless, flesh eating zombies.
I also agree that The Walking Dead, specifically, is not about zombies. It's about people surviving an extinction event. The zombies could have easily been replaced with a nuclear war, a plague or...triffids. The only reason it's zombies instead is to make the situation more visceral and horror-themed.
You realize that genre's been done to death too, yeah?
The only zombie game I like is "I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MBIES 1N IT!!!1".
Well, at least the aliens can look different and have different motivations and shit.
Zombies are zombies. They're always rotting corpses. The only difference seems to be how fast they move and whether they're after brains or just flesh in general. And whether or not there's "super" zombies.
