I thought I was the only one. I love the music, I just turn it off so it feels like I'm really there, unless we had magical background music.
I don't know about you but i plan on having magical background music when zombies come (IRL) so then I know when bad stuff is about to happen and fucking run like hell the other way;):p
I think the music really helps give the scenes emotion and atmosphere. For example, i can't imagine playing the end of episode two without the music score that plays. It just doesn't feel right.
I actually prefer movies that exclude music and only add in what's present in the scene. Instead of having a meta-soundtrack, you would hear a radio or some sort of music coming from the character's car radio, or while they're in a bar, or something like that. I actually replayed a lot of the game without music and I feel a lot more immersed.

I think the music is a huge strength to the game. Other than that one heavy handed track for the burial, I think it's an excellently underscored soundtrack that adds atmosphere, emotion and poignancy to many of the main story beats.
That said, I could see certain parts still working without the music. The second big moment in Episode 3 could have terrific impact if there was just dead silence after the moment happens.
I still petition that Telltale consider releasing the soundtrack for purchase. I'd totally buy it and listen to it over and over!

Also, the music changes tend to give stuff away.
