System locks up during the demo

I make it through the opening credits and can look around the room a bit, but the game locks up my laptop when I look out the window (requiring a hard reset :( )

I've tried re-installing the game and directX, with the same results.

I think my laptop meets the system specs, but who knows...
IBM ThinkPad
Windows XP Sp2 w/ 512MB
ATI Mobility FireGL 9000 (I think thats 64MB)

    Which game/demo is this? And have you tried updating your graphics drivers?

    Sorry, Sam & Max season 1 demo. I'll take a look at the graphics drivers this evening.
