There was a good thread for this but... I've changed my opinion since then

I'd have to agree with you! They were all good though! Not saying episode 4 is bad or anything. Just didn't quite reach to the expectations that the previous episodes set.
I guess I'm the only one that thought 4 was great.
Here's my order: 4, 1, 2, 3
I rate them on the following criteria:
Drama: (inter-party turmoil, emotion and conflict)
3, 2, 4, 1
Technical: (difficulty in coding/programming, number of scenes and environments)
1, 4, 2, 3
Challenge: (difficulty for the player, puzzle completion)
4, 2, 1, 3
Plot: (actual gameplay impact, lack of being "on rails")
4, 1, 2, 3
Totals, using 4 for first spot and 1 for last spot:
1: 1 + 4 + 2 + 3 = 10
2: 3 + 2 + 3 + 2 = 10
3: 4 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 7
4: 2 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 13
I ended up putting 1 ahead of 2 because it was the first one, but I could see how people liked the second one better. I also liked 3 a lot, don't get me wrong, but it was a pure emotion episode, it didn't really innovate the game and the decisions you made meant very little. I believe episode 5 may cause me to rethink some of this, for example, if the decision to help or not help certain people from Episode 3 ends up mattering.
the fourth was my favorite, the new characters were sweet, i loved the ending and the overall interactivity.
then the second one for the shock factor of it coming out of the first one that was more of an introduction to what the game would be.
the first one is third because i loved it, but nothing great stands out.
then the third which, for me, felt like it was on rails a bit too much, few puzzles, mostly walking around talking apart from the train sequence, the only thing that made it enjoyable to me (which it was, don't get me wrong) is that the storyline with Kenny was amazing and made you care for a character which i didn't give much about before.
Episode 4 isn't bad at all, it just had to live up to episode 3 emotionally, and it didn't. Action wise, there's way more going on. Everything after you meet Molly in Episode 4 is amazing, and the pacing in Crawford was really exciting.
1st: 2 - It's shock factor was high, overall fun, and great story.
2nd: 4 - The story was interesting, the whole "NO BOAT! NOW A BOAT BUT NO GAS OR BATTERY! DAT ENDING!", and just alot of decisions were made here that will probably
decide alot what happens to people in ep 5.
3rd: 1 - It started of the series amazingly and even had a decisions that lasted for 2 more episodes longer!
4th: 3 - Don't get me wrong, if it was a number rating, all of these would be over 9, but 3 was more emotional than gameplay.
Oh and to everyone saying that 4 didn't live up to earlier episodes, what it will probably do to episode 5 will matter ALOT. And it IS emotional, those who have played the end will know why.
1st- Episode 2: The best writing, acting, choices, payoffs and QTE's in the series. It was the episode that made me love the game instead of just liking it a lot.
2nd- Episode 1: A terrific set-up introducing well defined characters, genuine emotion and enticing potential
3rd- Episode 3: A strong first two acts with the two the most shocking moments in the game, but hindered by a ho-hum third act with a simple resolution to a non problem.
4th- Episode 4: Episode 3's polar opposite. A ho-hum first two thirds that meanders about and moves in fits and starts followed by a terrific third act with a shocking twist and cliffhanger. It also had a number of gaping plot holes and inexplicable details (they really test the gaming trope of infinite pockets to its limits with Molly making a huge jump over a roof with a heavy car battery) that I couldn't ignore.
I really hope Episode 5 can at least reach for the number 1 or 2 spot. A great ending can give a story resonance (ME1/2) while a terrible ending can sink a lot of good will (ME3). I have faith in Telltale though.
One a 1-10 scale. 1 being awful, 10 being amazing.
Ep 1: 10- great introduction. Perfect in every way.
Ep 2: 7 - good follow up. I rated it a little low because it was predictable, and so far we have no idea who Jolene was and why she watched/recorded them unless I missed something.
Ep 3: 9- awesome episode and a shocking death to Carly or Doug. Love the scene where you can kick lilly out or keep her. Hope she shows up in 5.
Ep 4: 10 - leaves you wanting so much more. This episode made me hate Clem though. Now I fan care less if she dies. Lee being bitten also shocked me.
Ep 5: TBD- I just hope it is seriously longer than the others, maybe even double the length. I want to see loose ends tied up.
Ep 4: 10 - leaves you wanting so much more. This episode made me hate Clem though. Now I fan care less if she dies. Lee being bitten also shocked me.
How did it make you hate her? She's acting pretty believably for the situation she is in, especially for that last dialogue moment with her. Call her whiny and a pain if you want, but she is a child. I didn't think of any of her moments upsetting me or making me like her less.
No need to rate the episodes individually. This game gets an immediate 10/10 from me, somebody who grew up on adventure games, and never thought they would advance this far and in this way.
2 had the greatest amount of shock factor because of the St Johns. Also it had an epic ending with Lee leaving the St Johns in tattered ruins while it was raining heavily.
4 comes 2nd best as I got to break Ben's spirit and legs then feed him as zombie fodder. I also liked 4 for the cliffhanger.
3 in 3rd place since I got to kill Duck but unfortunately there was no option to stomp his face in with my boot like I had done so to the young boy in ep 4.
1 was meh... Honestly, if I hadn't played 2 and I bought the game when only 1 was around, I would never have continued playing. 2 was where things really started to pick up.
Eek! I don't know how I'd rank them in order, they're all so good, 10 stars! But I guess it'd be 3, 2, 1, 4.. or 3, 2, 4, 1?? idk 4 and 1 are tied in my heart I think. 3 was really intense and emotional, so it's my top favorite so far for sure
The second episode was the best all around, though EP 4 had some welcome arcade type gameplay options that were fun. I was far more affected by what happened in EP2 than in either 3 or 4. I guess it was the total nihilism present in that episode and that the (SPOILERS) that happened in 3 and 4 were somewhat predictable.
But I might be biased from playing the latter ones more recently. I've got to play through all of them again before playing ep5 though as I somehow messed up when trying to create a new game and deleted my progress.
