Does Christa tell you she's pregnant?

She didn't for me. Can she tell you? If so, how?

She didn't for me either and yet somehow my Lee seemed to know. I mean, the signs were certainly there and I'm sure the other characters picked up on it, but it seemed weird that nobody said anything about it. Really felt like there's a missing bit of dialogue somewhere.

Lee suddenly knew for some reason.

When they had to cross the sign, Lee said that Omid's leg was busted and Christa was 'walking for two', so he'd go first.

^^ exactly, I thought I missed a scene too. We did a lot of talking but she never said outright she was pregnat.

Honestly I felt that the fact they DIDN'T have a point where they outright go "Crista, just so we're clear, you're pregnant, right?" was a really nice touch. All the signs were there and from what I've seen, most of the audience had figured it out ages ago. Having the in-game characters not figure it out (especially when they've had more time interacting with Crista than the audience has actually seen) would have made them seem strangely dense in comparison.

The thing is, Omid didn't seem to know. So when Lee said she was walking for two, I expected some kind of reaction out of him.

this is exactly what i wanted to say.

You guys forgot the scene where she threw up? Obvious.

I like that she totally chugged half a bottle of whiskey, too. That shouldn't have any repercussions at all.

oh he knew all right. if you brought him in the train instead of christa, he will say "why me? can't you tell that she's-" before being cut off by christa pulling herself up.

I think Kenny knew- he sacrificed himself for Christa (although this may just be because he's my bro and a goddamn hero)

Agreed, he knows since the beginning - first lines you hear from them are "Don't you think we should tell them? Oh - look - they have a kid!" more or less

I agree, it was obvious to everyone, but the fact that Christa never came out and talked about it made it seem like she either wanted to deny it or she just didn't want to talk about. So that's why it was weird that Lee would just toss it out there like that and she wouldn't say anything. I would expect a "Yeah, you're right" or "I guess it was obvious" or something. Anything but just silence.

She's pregnant. Omid knows. Everyone knows. There are several references about her being pregnant. "Walking for two" And such.
  • edited November 2012
She's not pregnant shes harbouring a alien within her body... soon to rip out of her chest. It's really quite hearthbreaking.
  • edited November 2012
O-O oh god, I thought 'walking for two' meant that she had two legs....

Damn it :P well. That does it for being 14 hehe..

Christa's pregnant..? And it was "obvious"? Huh... If you guys say so

Also, people seem to forget about the video, and what the patient did to the doc, when she was all HI-YA on his kidney with that scalpel. And Christa said it was hard to watch.

i think its somekind of mix up because i never saw that scene either

There were enough signs to pick up on it.

could you please name the signs and what episode scene they occured, i hate that i missed it.

Lee probably put it together fairly quickly and Omid knew the whole time. I think Kenny never really stopped to think about it since he was so driven to find a boat and having Kat and Duck on his mind it, until he saw how she hesitated to drink and looked at her stomach. At first, I thought his shocked expression was because he was surprised that she took such a huge chug, but I think it really meant that it finally hit him that she was pregnant and was one of the major reasons he sacrificed himself to save her in some playthroughs.

Well, I don't mean anything definitive.

But her instant recognition of a sonogram, the fact she kept getting sick, her initial aversion to alcohol (which pregnant women shouldn't drink)

    It's all circumstantial.

In reality, I would agree with you. But this being an interactive game where mostly everything is placed for story and writing purposes, circumstantial doesn't really hold up as there were reasons why the creators put that in the game. Lee confirms it in this episode more or less and the writers intentionally put down numerous hints.

That was to short stack who had asked for definitive bits.

    I wasn't debating it.

I saw most of these signs everyone is talking about, and agree that it was ambiguous, but when Lee made the "walking for two" comment, it was just after I asked Christa to take care of Clem after I die. I think this was all he meant by it, they should stay safe because he would not ultimately be Clem's protector.

There is no scene where she comes out and says it. You have to pick up on it froms hints until the part where Lee confirms it by saying "walking for 2". The reason why no one looks thrilled about it is shes possibly going to have a baby in a messed up world with no professional care.

Jeeze look at Lori's turnout from the TV series. Im glad she died. If she hadnt I would have killed her myself. As a parent myself of a 1 year old and her having a child before, why in the heck were there NO supplies for that baby?!! Why did she not make it a point to have formula, diapers and clothes BEFORE she was ready to pop? Lets hope C is more responsible.

Also I call cure on babys blood.

I thought Christa only threw up once...

Lee was told that she's pregnant, when they decide who will be the first climb on the signboard. He said "Omid has a wound leg, and you have a child in yourself" Or something like that.
  • edited December 2012
I don't think she wanted to flat out tell everyone because she was afraid it'd make her appear as if she'd slow the group down.
  • edited December 2012
Yeah, in my playthrough she never outright tells you she is pregnant. However, before the metal sign in Ch5, i asked her something like 'something to share?' and she averts it.

And yes, there are many signs:

When she first joins you, Omid says 'should we tell them..?' to which christa says no. Also, when the two of them are talking together by the gas truck, somthing is said like 'safety in numbers', or something that implys that they would be safer in a group

as said, omid's comment of 'cant you see she's-' whilst on the train

When the video is seen of the woman getting pregnant and the sonograph, she is very affected. She throws up at the thought of what the women went through.

she's very maternal with clem. Sure, not a tell-tale sign, but i think it helps.

During ch5, when kenny finds the wiskey, she contempates it for a bit before taking a big swig. Kennys eyes go from her face, to her belly and back again, and his eyes widen. This would suggest that he realises. I think this is why he helps her later.

there are more little references but these are the main ones that i remember :)

He said to Christa that she is walking for two.

  • edited December 2012
It wasn't just the recognition. It was how she delivered the info.
  • edited December 2012
It always bothered me that she was constantly demanding honesty from everyone else, yet she wouldn't let us know HER little secret.

    Christa might have an undeveloped baby;
and i'm not going to write a lecture of baby defects by alcohol or stuff

The puking (didn't she puke too when they dug up the dog? The only one in the group that does as well), Sonogram ID emphasis (the writers could of just had the doctor point it out), and the "walking for two" comment pretty much lays it out. Albeit, indirectly. Where there is smoke, there is fire though.
But OP question...no, there is zero direct dialogue that specifically confirms it.
  • edited December 2012
If Kenny saves Christa and you ask her about it later, Lee can say:

"You know why he went down there, right?" and "Kenny didn't die for "it's nothing". That taking place right before the walking for two comment is all you need, i think.
