Thread on how to fix the saved games if you lost 'em. I didn't read thru the whole thing, but do check it out: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37049

This is useless. My saves are gone. I tried every single fix, but nothing works. I usually can fix 99% of game problems (i have Steam version on Win 8 and after few minutes on net i was able to run TWD, but i cant fix deleted saves.

It's not like we haven't known this game was buggy since like.... forever.

Why? I never experienced any bug or problem with TWD. How i am supposed to know that game after download of last episode will delete my saves and say "fuc* you"?

Well, it's usually wise to research a game... and this one has been out long enough, and with enough save bugs, that it's pretty common knowledge that it has issues.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's your fault. But... it's not like this is obscure information.

Well, i see your point, but still. If company cant get this right i think there is something very wrong with them. Anyway i love episodes 1-4, but after this huge kick in my butt, i am refusing to play again whole series to be able see fifth episode.

    yeah welcome to telltale -____-

Its actually pretty fun to play it all again, wait a month or two after you have calmed down and give it a go.

I stand by an earlier assertion though that they should of released it all as one package without releasing episodically, its hard to tell if it would be financially impossible to do so but we would not have had all these save bugs possibly hurting telltale as a company - as lets face it the choices is the main allure of this game and each release it has got worse.

This doesn't work for those that system recovered their pc to its factory days when you first purchased.

I cant even start up the game, I dont know if my saves are gone or not.

The only reason I ever signed up for this forum is because of a glitch/bug I encountered with the game and I wanted to research some help.

I'd guess about 98% of casual gamers who play The Walking Dead video games will not read telltale's forums unless there is a problem with their game.

There is no way that "backing up your saves" is an intuitive or pragmatic approach to modern video games. Sometimes gamers will have multiple save slots used during gameplay, but very few people think to actually archive the save files because it's absurd to think a video game publisher would release a game that could corrupt save files thus rendering them all useless.

Of course now that I'm aware that TTG can't get their act together on developing I know I should always back up save states when playing their games.

Yeah that what I been doing like forever too. Thanks for the PS3 Cloud that possible for me.

I don't like criticism but TTG are due some with the saved game issues / download issues (what was wrong with d/l'ing online like in the old days instead of through the game which continually stalls), the fact that every fix comes from a fan and not a telltale techie sums it up, they'd rather retweet every single positive review on twitter instead of sort (or at least put a post saying they are trying to) problems.

I lost all my saved games for episode 5 after spending a a few hours of two consecutive nights getting it to install (had the installation problem for 3&4 too), and to be honest I don't really care the choices didn't make too much difference anyway, I enjoyed the game just the same, but as a business, it kinda sucks. Especially as it doesn't appear to be an isolated case but I guess the cost/benefit side of the business says it's better to pump through positivity than fix a problems.

Still looking forward to season two, please keep it around Clem and how about getting a lot further down the development line before releasing anything so people can have more 'tailored' experiences without waiting beyond the time stated. People will always be pissed, such is life, but giving them a reason to be is just making rods for everyones back... anyway, more Monkey Island next please!

The last episode borked my saves on the PC for the first time, I was pissed that I had to play the last part without my choices but I have the game on PS3 too and thankful that my saves there didn't break.

It sucks about my PC saves though, Telltale really should get this sorted and soon.

fuck you telltale, how dare you make me care and than completely pull the rug out from under my experience.
make sure your games work BEFORE you sell them not after.

i used steam i have never seen one glitch or missing saves. im so lucky :)

What i dont get is, why doesnt Telltale take advantage of the amazing features of 2012.

Now i dont know if you own the game on steam or not. But it seems like Telltale wont support steam cloud, well because that would be a feature there own website doesnt have, It strikes me as odd, in 2012.

There is nothing better and i would actually expect any game today, to use the features steam provides. that also means you can just download game on another pc and continue playing, which is freaking awesome.

No more having to fubar around in hidden mysterious subfolders to try and find and remember to save your savegames.
