even the comics are hinting towards carl taking over as the main protagonist after rick dies to negan potentially (or some kind of battle resulting from it, who knows)

maybe clem and carl will end up teaming up when they both get older for some ZA badassery and she'll become cannon with the comics.

Yeah, I'd always think that the way the game ended would be similar to the way the tv show/comics are going to end. Rick gets bitten, and Carl will shoot him before he turns.

Won't happen. At least, not so soon. The comic is supposed to be 300 issues and Rick is supposed to be the protagonist from then to the end. If anything, kill Carl. I hate that kid.

Actually, in an interview with the creator of the game, he said "I don't want it to have Rick in it. It will have some minor characters from the comic series and TV series, but I'm not going to involve Duane, Rick, Shane, or anyone like that. I don't want it to be their story. I want a completely different story that happens in the same universe as Rick's journey."

Clem with Carl? Together? HELL NO! And I sure that Rick didn't die soon. Negan can't catch him again.

Highly doubt this is going to happen. RK once said that the Walking Dead comic is Rick's story above all else and that when Rick dies that's the end.
