How would you react if Clem wasn't in the next series?

I'd probably have a lump in my throat throughout the whole game. :(

    Agreed.

i wouldnt mind it infact might prefer it, her story is over and it was a beautiful story.
the ending was ambigious but thats how all good stories end. hopefully she found good people to be with and lives a long happy life with them regardless if the shadow people were omid and christa.

I would be happy. Tired of her anyway.

I doubt I would react favorably, I wouldn't walk away from the title, but I would not be happy at all.

I'd be unhappy. It wouldn't be fair to make an ending like that for Clem and not address it.
I'm pretty sure they will. It won't stop me from getting the game but I doubt I'll be "enjoying" it if I don't get more closure for her.

So long as they showed something of her fate that wasn't as vague as the post credits scene I wouldn't mind.

I'd be severely disappointed if Clementine wasn't in season 2.
  • edited November 2012
With that ambiguous ending, I'd rather see Omid, Christa and Clementine once again, than just leaving the ending untied.
  • edited November 2012
I'd rather Clementine appear at the start then within the first couple episodes is given closure so we can move on. I would hate for them to give us that cliffhanger and not address it in the next season. I kind of wish they just gave all the characters (Omid and Christa as well) closure in Episode 5 so they could start fresh in Season 2 though.

I personally think it would be a terrible waste if TTG does not continue Clem's storyline in season 2 after utilizing the entire first season to develop her character. Besides, I want to see the results of Lee's sacrifice and the continued impact of the decisions he (we) made.

Ultimately, Clem is all we have left of Lee and I think that would be a horrible thing to throw away. The theme of this season was "For Clem." The theme of the next season should be "For Lee." \m/

I think that even if Clem isn't the focus of season 2 that we will almost definitely see her or omid or christa or maybe even join them.

Lee's sacrifice wouldn't mean anything if they continued Clem's story in Season 2.

A - It would be silly for Clem to just bump into another really nice guy who takes Lee's role as a teacher and caretaker. Lee and Clem's bond was special and just doing it again next season with a new character would lessen the importance of his character.

B - It would make the choices of Season 1 have less meaning. With an open ending, we can all choose our own way of teaching Clem and possibly be right. By continuing Clem's story in Season 2, all of those "Clementine will remember this" actions will be pointless. For instance, if I tried to make Clem a no-nonsense fighter, while you tried to make her a caring and friendly, leaving her story open would allowed us both to be right in our way, rather than making one path correct.

If they intended for it to be ambiguous i think they would have left it at the final scene instead of adding that extra post-credits one. Even showing Clem alone in the countryside would have been enough for interpretation but i think they're obviously driving the story somewhere with the two shadowy figures.

If they use saves from season 1, maybe her personality against characters in season 2(if she's in it) will be based upon your actions and choices as Lee.

I'm not bothered. I say go for it as long as they keep the same writers and same people to produce it, maybe have her appear at the end. I reckon her, Omid and Christa will end up in a new group but they may take a back seat to start with to focus on new characters.

Yeah but that's my point, Having Clem's personality be affected would add the possibility of there being a "right" choice, or at least a preferable one. That would be a mistake imo, because it would make people who chose the oppisite be "wrong", and make replaying the game less interesting.

Breaking down your Season 1 actions to just being a slight change in dialogue for the next season would be making Lee's story pointless.

This is a charecter that must be used. If theyvdont its a waste of writing genious with THE best charecters tgat Ive seen written in a game. In AC you dont care this much for Ezio.
All these haters just want to have a bad ass with a baseball bat... Thats got old.

Not using this kind of charecter would be retarded. And they can get a more emotional response than Season 1 if they kill her in a season or two or get her bit. Imagine making us do that. You dont have to do teacher carer. A brother/sisterly relationship. She can care for herself but shes naive and weak. It will good to see new found independance and Clens struggle for respect from grown ups who belittle her.

Why? All good stories do not end that way. I wouldn't want to have an ambiguous end to her fate because would still ask what happened to her and having an ambiguous ending and starting anew would deem keeping the past saves irrelevant and useless.

While I can see where you are going with this, I have to disagree. You are narrowing the application of Clem's story in the next season to assumptions about specific plot details. There are a plethora of ways TTG can continue Clem's storyline without minimizing her bond with Lee and without difinatively determing which decisions from the frist season were right or wrong. On the contrary, I think they would do quiet the opposite.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not quite following your reasoning here. If Clem's overall personality or viewpoint depends on what Lee taught her, then there is no right or wrong. It is simply how he taught her to live.

If Clem's overall personality or viewpoint does not depend on what Lee taught her, then there is a right and wrong way to play season 1, because if you don't teach her exactly how she is in season 2, then she would just throw everything you taught her out the window, making Lee's story more or less pointless in the end.

Anyway, I would like to at least come across Clem, Omid, and Christa in season 2. I wouldn't mind if the story doesn't follow Clem like it did in season 1, but I would like to at least see more of her character.

Also, I'd be very hesitant getting attached to all new characters if there was the possibility of them all being swept under the rug for season 3, Like what happened to Omid, Christa, and Clem if S2 doesn't have them in it.

Season two starts with Clementine being eaten by the two cannibals she saw at the end of this season.

Eh, I'll skip the season and play some other Telltale games.

Wouldn't care. Walking Dead is Walking Dead. I would be upset if we never saw Clem again though!

    I'd be okay with that.

I am a big fan of open endings. I'm being serious. Season 1 was a great tale.

A lot people have made a strong emotional connection with Clem, so it will be sad to completely ignore her.

considering she got lee killed, good. we dont need another main character to get caught in clems wrath

To be honest I would probably lose interest in the walking dead as a game and wait for a sale one day down the line.
The only reason to abandon the old crew is for lore reasons, see other aspects of the walking dead universe. However I do not see the use in seeing other aspects of the walking dead lore seeing as you can do that with the comics or the tv show.
The only way I would be 100% okay with them abandoning the group as the focus is if they completely shift the area they are focused on. Say take the next step and portray other parts of the world than only fucking America, to be honest I am getting very tired of the american scenerie in both zombie movies and other similar movies.
There is an entire world out there to explore do something new and interesting if you are gonna change stuff upp.

Also, seeing a new group every time from the begining of the outbreak would become stale and repetetive real fast. I need to feel like I am actually progressing trough something, somehow.

I would be severely disappointed. If I wanted to start all over again, I'd buy a new game. I know there'll be new characters, but Clem is the bread and butter of this series now. I want to see her grow up and fight until she passes the torch to someone else as an adult, like Lee did for her. Starting with a new group isn't bad, as long as Clem comes in at some point during the first episode. And no, I don't think there will be anyone that can ever replace Lee, but they don't really need to make another character like him for us to play as anyways.

No clementine for season two? No problem! It's easy! We grab a bazooka, we go to Telltale Headquarters, we torture them in every way the possible and get them to readd clementine!
Actually, I'd still buy Season Two if clementine wasn't on it. If that happened, I'd just like to see what would have happened to her, or who the shadows in the horizon really were.

I'd be disappointed in the run up, but I'd be over it by the time the game was loading up on my PC.

I prefer to think that Clem has found Omid and Christa and are making a go of it in the countryside somewhere. And until we find out otherwise, that's what I'll keep thinking.

    Jump for joy.

But then, I've hoped for a new crew each season.
