Who's death was the most noble/brave?

Your answer?

I can't really decide on this, but it's got to be one of my buddies. Kenny, Ben, or Doug. Kenny of course died (for me) in an alleyway saving the one person in the world he used to hate the most. Ben. And I thank him (Except for the dying part) for putting the kid out of his misery, and also restoring his humanity.

Then there's Ben, and this isn't exactly a death though. I saved Ben of course, but when he was dangling there, and telling me to go on and drop him so he could save the others some time, I knew that he thought the only way he could help was sacrifice. I agree with him on most things, but not on this. But I honor him for his bravery.

Doug was a funny character who thought he couldn't do anything without a couple batteries and spare parts. I guess he became a good friend of Ben on that walk back to the Motor Inn in Episode 2, because he saved Ben's life. The thing is, he pushed him out of the way, not pulled, so he got hit by the bullet. I would vote for Doug, but then again he died by accident, even though he did a brave thing.

    Definitely Doug.

There was Doug and Kenny. If you dropped Ben, I'd say that was a pretty heroic death.

Kenny's for sure if you sided with him alot you get this as I posted somewhere else:
well if I remember how it played out for me:
Kenny: get the fuck outta here lee
    Lee: what?!?!?
Kenny: go back! she needs you lee!
    Lee: KENNY!
Kenny: THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION!
    (choices come up)
Lee: HELL NO MAN!, I'm not leaving!
Kenny: WHAT DID I JUST SAY!?
Lee: Let's get ben and get out of here!
(kenny pushes Lee to side and closes gate)
    Lee: what the fuck kenny!?
    Kenny: Lee. Lee it's okay
    (choices come up)
Lee: NO KEN! no it's not!
Kenny: its just somethin' I gotta do, you know that... now go get that girl.
Kenny: BACK YOU SONS OF BITCHES!
    (lee tries to pull gate).

    that's pretty heroic to me
(those were my choices of dialogue)

    definitely doug too

Either Doug or Lee. Doug was quiet but still didn't ever want people to die who didn't deserve it so he sacrificed himself. Lee however still fought for his last few breaths to keep his final moments with Clem so he could help her. After everything Lee went through he still did everything he could to help out Clem.

A tie between Doug and Kenny.

What Doug did was really, really, really noble. But Kenny spent his last bullet to save Ben the pain of being eaten alive, at the cost of himself going through that. That's fucking bravery.

It's close but It's Doug for me too.
He saw Lilly pull the gun on Ben and put himself in harms way for another member and, remember,Carley wouldn't of even made it into episode 1 without him. So,yes,it's Doug for me too.

Hopefully Lilly wasn't just going to scare Ben into confessing and panicked fired with Doug's sudden movement...
because he did shout and get the walkers attention before they turned around and went after Lee in episode 1 :p

I'm not really sure, probably Doug. But Brie definitely had the most dramatic.

Chuck. He died saving a little girl.
  • edited November 2012
apart from kenny and doug nobody had a noble/brave death (maybe chuck but he didn't die saving clementine) and with doug i would say it was 50-50 as to whether he caused lilly to panic fire or he reacted the exact same time lilly was going to pull the trigger and the kenny trying to save ben death is kind of pointless.

so kenny has the most noble/brave death in my opinion

Kenny, but Doug is really close. And I'll be honest, Kenny's death moved me a lot more with the history between him and Ben.

I guess in order, it'd be
-Kenny, Ben saved in episode 4
    -Doug, episode 3
-Kenny, Ben dropped in episode 4

To be fair Doug didn't intend to take the bullet for Ben, he only tried to pull Ben out of the way.

most noble death was Christa and Omid. They died trying to look for Clementine.

Doug's death was pretty heroic, but the kicker is he had no idea he'd get killed. That's not to diminish his sacrifice, because I'm sure he would be ok with it so long as Ben survived, but both Ben and Kenny knew exactly what was going to happen to them duirng their moments. So I'd have to say...

    1. Kenny, if Ben is alive in Episode 5
    2. Ben, if dropped in Episode 4
    3. Kenny, if Ben was dropped in Episode 4
    4. Doug in Episode 3

Not to say the first three are way ahead of Doug's sacrifice, but in 1 and 3, Kenny knew exactly what he was doing when he saved Christa/tried to save Ben, and knew that he would probably die painfully doing something right in both scenarios. Especially in 1, when he's willing to go through that for the person he hated most. In 2, Ben knew how much pain he had caused and was willing to be left behind and torn apart by walkers so everyone could get away. Doug saw the gun, and it seemed like he just reacted, but he saved Ben's life and at least got a quick and painless ending.

But ben still screams "LEE LEE" If you drop him

I assumed TellTale just reused the screaming from when he got grabbed by Oberson (the belltower walker) to make it seem painful. Ben made the decision to be left behind in my game, and thought about others before himself. I even told Clem as much when she asked me about him, and called Kenny an asshole when he was proud of me for letting Ben die.

Larry. No one else could take a salt lick to the face in such a charming way.

But in all seriousness, I'd say Doug's was more selfless and noble imo, but kenny's was braver.

It was established in episode 5 that Ben's greatest fear is turning into a walker (or at least that is what is implied). He probably thought the fall would smash his head in / he'd die instantly, unfortunately that was not the case. It's likely that after he realized the fall did not kill him that he wanted Lee to just shoot him.

Most heroic goes to Chuck for saving Clem and giving the group time to escape on the streets. He was separated from the group, and that got him killed.

Kenny (with Ben alive) chose suicide by walkers. Both Kenny and Ben (dropping him in episode 4) just wanted to die, nothing heroic about it. They needed someone to smack them across the jaw to stop their stupid speeches and meaningless deaths, and haul them out of there.

Kenny's death to save Christa is heroic, maybe more than Chuck's, since everyone could tell that was a one way trip.

Agree with everything except the last sentence. Chuck was indeed heroic because he didn't have to do it, but he did it and pretty much saved everybody, by making them leave him.
He was indeed a hero hobo.

Kenny's suicide (with Ben) is more pathetic than heroic. Especially after the speech he gave.

Now I would argue that Kenny's death with Christa is heroic. It's more of a "I'm fixin' what I just did" death which is okay.
It's because of him Lee dropped the walkie and he needed it.
If somebody was heroic in that scene, it was Christa, because she just went down, not asking questions or anything (when in fact it was Kenny's fault). Kenny saving her is just fixing his mistake (for the first time), nothing heroic about it in my opinion.

Lilly never fixed any mistakes... she was just insisting till the end...

Why not give Kenny what he deserves (in a positive way) at least for once? ;)

8Bit_System, well I would've if I saw anything positive in his death :)

Well Lilly did give the great service of
shooting Lori Grimes in the comic book series.

For that I shall forever be in her gratitude.

That was an accident. She thought she was killing the enemy and didn't even see the baby. She rid the world of the Governor and for that she's redeemed.

    1. Kenny/Ben death
If you dropped Ben, Kenny's death would be lot less emotional. Thats what you get for dropping him, Ben-Haters
    2. Chuck's death
    3. Doug E3 Death
  • edited November 2012
    Considering I let Doug die,

I would go with Kenny and Chuck.

I wouldn't say she's fully 100% redeemed just yet. i may not of liked lori but rick did and thus i feel bad for him:(

I would have to say Kenny and Lee.

Kenny obviously sacraficed himself for Ben, and he knew exactly what he was doing. And he was okay with it.

Lee, because he knew he was going to die, and he didn't want Clem to see him like that. He was a good character. Brave guy to continue searching even though he knew his death was certain.

    Kenny.
Doug's death wasn't very heroic, it was a complete fuck up by Lilly.
Kenny had a lot of time to shoot Ben and run, but he decided to sacrifice himself.
I think it's as heroic even with Christa.

Yeap, she's quite flawed and that makes her so interesting. I hope that Kirkman doesn't continue his "I'm gonna kill/ditch awesome characters so I can look hardcore in my fan's eyes attittude" because he hasn't created many cool characters lately.
