The only remaining question...

In Episode 5, we all had the chance to cut our own arm off, and most of us did. The thing is, if you don't, Lee obviously dies of the infection. So my question is, did the amputated Lee die from the infection, or blood loss? Because Carl barely made it without Rick's blood, so if Lee somehow got extra blood could he have lived? And no, I'm not one of them saying "Lee just was knocked unconscious/Clementine missed his head!"

I think its probably the loss of blood and something else, not "THE INFECTION", maybe some other illness. The little girl in myself can not accept that this guy is dead.

i would say in the cutting arm off scenario he dies from both blood loss and blood infection because blood loss would weaken your immune system, but he didn't die from just blood loss because the arm wound clotted and stopped bleading

No idea. It would probably take a load of blood tests etc. to see if whatever from the bite was still the thing killing him..

    Probably the bite.

I think blood loss + infection is a very good reason for him to die as well when you cut his arm off. I mean, the room they cut the arm off in was used as living quarters for old and sickly people for months.. how clean do you think it is?

But, it is probably still the bite that kills him. If you don't cut it off untill after you pass out from the infection for the first time it has already spread too far to help in my opinion (also why I didnt want to cut it off).

I think he died from the bite. When he passed out right before you have the decision to cut it off, the infection probably spread vitally through his body.

The infection had already spread to sistemic proportions when he amputates his arm, shown, for example, by his collapse at the morgue, indicating that the bacteria's toxins were already affecting the brain. The amputation only decreased the progression rate by eliminating the source of infection, and, without some specific antibiotics, the remaining bacteria were more than enough to kill their host.

My thoughts exactly. The time they took to travel through the sewers to get to Vernon's hideout was the final nail in the coffin for Lee.

I think it was the bite but the loss of blood did not help Lee at all

lets not forget about the gun shot wound he received in the hotel. It was likely a combination of the blood loss from the amputation, gun shot and the infection. I was hoping amputating his arm would have spared him...kind of anti-climatic in my opinion.

That's determinant. Lee only gets shot there if you let Campman get to the gun.

Anyway, like others have said, probably a combination of both. It DID slow down the infection apparently, because you pass out two times less if you cut it off.

It slowed the infection, but the bite was still the biggest factor in his death. If he hadn't waited so long (like, if they'd done it immediately) then (I think) he definately would have survived. Without the bite, if he'd decided to cut his arm off for the hell of it, he wouldn't have died.

I assume it was the infection still, he continues to show all the symptoms. If he'd have cut it off immediately he might have survived.
