Talking Dead covering Telltale's Walking Dead game

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
Hey guys,

I've just finished the Walking Dead game and it's awesome.
But I was just wondering why they've never mentioned the Telltale game on the Talking Dead, the talkshow airing after The Walking Dead on AMC.
They've talked about the social game and the upcoming 2013 game.
Is there a clause that keeps them from talking about it? It's not like the Telltale game is unofficial or something right?

Does anyone have any idea why this is?

The Telltale game is based on the comic series, while AMC's game is based on the TV series. And in Talking Dead, they only talk about the TV series.

Well, they do make a lot of references back to the comic actually. They've had Robert Kirkman over as a guest a few times.
It would seem that if you cover everything walking dead, including games, why leave out an award winning one?

they would only advertise things with AMC attached to it, not everything The Walking Dead

AMC doesn't profit off this. Only the Facebook and I phone games.

Because any time spent covering Telltale's game would be time taken away from advertising Activision's game.

They covered the new TWD game app that is completely unrelated to AMC and the show, and even features artwork inspired by the comic. I've wondered why Talking Dead never covered it either. I figured it was just an AMC decision that they made but I'll bet they're kicking themselves now that it won GOTY.

They may mention it in after the mid season premier in February after it gets a few more awards and nominations.

IGN had a segment called Talking Dead that they used to discuss the show until AMC stole it like a buncha jerks. Anyway IGN now uses their revised Walking Talking Dead show to discuss the games.

I doubt it would ever get any mention. I would go so far as to say AMC and activision are not very pleased Telltale's game has been received so well. Because now their game will be in Telltale's shadow.

I too had noticed and wondered about the lack of acknowledgement of the Telltale game on Talking Dead and the AMC website. I just couldn't understand why they plugged the hell out of the social game and even that plug-n-play tv game with the green shotgun, but never a word about the amazing Telltale game. Although now that it's winning awards like Game of the Year, suddenly the extended trailer for the Telltale game series is now on the front of AMC's Walking Dead website, so hopefully they will continue to give it some promotion. Every Walking Dead fan shouldn't go without playing this game.
