How many of you high-fived Duck in Episode 3?

Hey guys! There's a huge contingent of folks here at Telltale that have been wondering something since we released Episode 3: Who high-fived Duck, and who left him hanging?

Sadly this is something we never tracked, and I figured an informal poll in celebration of our VGA wins (thanks everybody that voted! Seriously, you guys are the best!) was in order.

So tell us!

    I certainly did, without hesitation!

I made the choice to save Duck in the beginning, (I thought maybe If I could get him off the tractor I could save Shawn. . . It was an innocent time, before I had been burdened with the consequences of my decisions) and ever since then I kind of felt the need to treat him with compassion, I defended him at the Pharmacy and he was the first one I fed after Clem in Episode 2, I always tried to be nice to Duck, So when he was actually genuinely helpful during the mystery, I couldn't turn it down, it's a shitty situation after all and as an adult it's Lee's responsibility to make it as good for the kids as possible.

I was actually really glad you guys put that in the game, it gave me a good smile, which was rare in Episode 3.

I really liked the guy when I noticed that he liked Batman. To tell the truth, I didn't actually didn't know that there was a choice NOT to high-five him.

he said i could be batman how could i not high-five him :)

You guys didn't track that?? :O
    I just had to hi-five Duck, I couldn't leave him hanging. :P

Definitely high fived him! He did point out the chalk scruff and the possiblity of the 'X' being a message.

Of course I high-fived Duck. He was a good kid and cheered me up, even if he was a bit daft sometimes.
  • edited December 2012
That wasn't a choice, it was an obligation. :P Hell Yea i high fived him without second thought!

    "Holy High-Fives Batman!"

    Exactly! I love Duck. He's a great kid. :D

I was Batman and he was Robin. How could I not?
  • edited December 2012
How could you look at that excited little face, and not high five him? I couldn't have left my sidekick hanging like that.
  • edited December 2012
He was an annoying brat, but you don't ever leave a little kid hanging like that.

Duck thinks all of you are incredibly awesome. Which is cool.

I wouldn't leave my worst enemy hanging. It's an unspeakable thing to do.

You just gave me probably the biggest laugh I'll get during my entire 20th birthday today.

So i dont have a good brain so is there a vid of that moment??
  • edited December 2012
I remember when I first saw this scene, I wasnt sure what Duck was doing, but after I high fived him, I laughed my ass off!

You can't leave a kid hanging.

Well, why wouldn't I high five him? He's the reason we solved the mystery. In fact, if he hadn't been bitten during the raid, he may have successfully deduced who the actual traitor was during the argument on the road. It's a shame that Ben covered his tracks so well, by managing to off the group's one competent detective.

At the beginning I didn't want his help but he proved that his help was valuable.

Of course I did! He was a nice kid!

What?! How did I not notice?! I think I just over looked him and went out the door. :( D'aw sorry Duck I would have if I wasn't off in spacey land. :P

I don't get why anybody, unless playing as a scumbag Lee, wouldn't high-five Duck

I thought I'd look around at the other stuff before talking to Duck again, and by the time I was done with that he had put his hand down. Oh well!

I didn't like that kid all the way up to episode 3, but the Robin reference earned him a high-five from me

Now which save are we talking about here...?

    :D

I left Duck hanging. I found him kind of annoying on the first playthrough. I was going to high-five him, but I hesitated a bit too long, and ended up missing out on the opportunity. :( After seeing his story arc to completion, I became a fan of Duck's, and high fived him on the second playthrough to make up for my initial error in judgment :)

Leave my ward hanging, hell no.

    Of course.

The people who didn't high five him must burn.

You left Duck hanging is one of the best moments in gaming history.

I didn't notice Duck holding up his hand when I first encountered the scene, until a message came up saying I left Duck hanging. I would have high fived him for sure if I had saw, and felt an immense guilt for leaving him hanging, so I reloaded my game just so I could high five him. I lived with all my other decisions from that point forward, even if I regretted them, but I just couldn't go on without high fiving that little boy.

Of course I did! He was just a little kid and actually did help out. It was one of the few moment that made me smile.
  • edited December 2012
I wanted to but I ran out of time before I could make the choice :P
  • edited December 2012
I did. I was never really annoyed by Duck and i didn't overly like him that much, so i just stuck to an indifferent(in favor of positive actions) attitude to him. After he put his up i saw no reason not to. :)

I did. He deserved the praise - he had been very helpful.

    Plus, I always liked Duck.

Took me a little while to warm up to Duck, but had to high-five him after we became THE DYNAMIC DUO!

If Lee was Batman I guess Duck was Jason Todd...

More like Stephanie Brown, the Robin no-one remembers. Kind of like how Clem is the only kid mentioned by people.

I high-fived Duck because of the expectant look on his face.

First time I had to high five him but second time I didn't...

Just to find out what would happen

I'm pretty sure It is the main difference between Kenny joining you or not

Hell yeah I gave him the BRUTE FIVE!
