slow downloaders... help us out!

If you're getting downloads for 202 that are slower than seem normal for your ISP, can you please post a traceroute to telltale.vo.llnwd.net ?

To do that, go to the start menu, choose 'run', type 'cmd' and hit enter. At the command prompt, type 'tracert telltale.vo.llnwd.net' and hit enter, then copy/paste back into a post.

    I got a single-digit download speed before I used a proxy instead. Here are the pertinent traceroute steps (without proxy):

    Edit: Also, can you make sure it's still slow if you try it again?

    Sent. And it's still slow. Takes well over a minute before the download even starts properly.

    Not slow for me. Download took 5 minutes, as usual.

    Well if you think 6KBps :eek: is slow for a 20mbit dsl line, then here is my trace.:

    And yes, it's still slow. It's different from before, though. In the evening (afternoon for you guys) it was just slow, now half of the time there isn't any data getting trough, and after about three minutes the TCP connection is closed by the remote server (even though only about 5 MB is downloaded). Apparently that was a fluke. It's just slow again. I can provide you with a traffic dump if you're interested.

    I just got an e-mail from llnw saying that they found a european server that was probably causing the problem, and they they've taken it out of rotation until they can get it fixed. You might not notice any improvement for a little bit until DNS updates, though.

    Edit: Can those of you who were getting slow speeds give it another shot now and see if it's better?

    Yes, it's completely solved (at least as far as I can tell). 3.5 MB/s overall. ;) Good job!

    It works for me now. Couldn't even download 2MB of the whole file last time I tried.
    Now it's stable at 340KB/s.

    Edit: Which is much better than donwload stopping at 1.1MB of file complete.

    Yup, it's fixed. Downloading at 500-ish now.
