Why would Lily betray me like this?

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
I've been on her side throughout the entire season.

I sided with her dad, because I hate Kenny
I tried saving her dad in EP 2
I brought her back in the RV after killing Carley
I even thought of going with her and ditching the others and taking Clementine with me

like wtf man!

Because it still has to follow the story-line. your decision's to side with lily really make a difference towards the end when you need Kenny's help.

I was kinda disappointed in how they handled Lily's character in EP 3. At the end of EP 2 she seemed to realize that being a hard ass wasn't the best way to lead. Even seemed to be more compassionate about other people. Especially if you tried to help Larry. But it seemed that they did a 180 on her between episodes.

I know they kinda had their hands tied to how Lily ended up because she was supposed to be the Lily from the comics. I bet they would have had a better ending for her if not for that.

I really liked Lilly, but Kenny all the way, he was my bro. But Lilly is a bad ass character, but I still like Kenny more.

I don't know about you but Lilly was really nice to me in episode three and was compassionate. Also, it really shouldn't come to surprise that Lilly was so high strung considering what happened to her father.

As to her leaving, it was probably the right thing to do. The only person who still trusted / liked her in the group was Lee, depending on your choices, even Katjaa didn't trust her anymore. It's as she said (or something along these lines):

"What am I suppose to do, wait here until you guys figure out what to do with me?"

I know how you feel. I was entirely on Kenny's side before episode 2. I helped Lilly in the meat locker. In episode 3, I cared less about where Kenny's family was going; I wanted to stay with Lilly. As soon as she murdered Carley though, I left her on the road. And I continued my friendship with Kenny once again!

I wish there was more game-changing decisions. Maybe not this particularly, since the game follows the comic storyline, yeah?

Doomed by canon. Needed to get her out of the group somehow.

My opinion is that she realizes she has become unhinged and may be a danger to everybody. Then it kinda depends on your choice. If you tell her to go, well you give her your permission. If you tell her to stop, I guess she doesn't want you to make a choice concerning her fate. It is not an easy thing to do and if you were thinking of something bad, I guess she would kinda prefer to avoid that. Plus she's not the type of person who would let others decide her fate.
If you tell her you will go with her, my explanation is that she realizes she has become a danger to everyone and you would be better off without her.
If you dislike her or you've been bad to her, well it is pretty self-explanatory why she would leave.

Lily loses control of the group as soon as a better leader (Kenny) shows up. She was fighting a losing battle with Kenny over power for months. Kenny won, so she left.

Lily didn't care about survival so much as she cared about order. It's why Kenny (the personification of chaos) is her foil. When the hierarchy of power in the Macon group dissolved, Lily lost it.

Also, her father's death made her excessively paranoid. Basically, poor Lily couldn't handle the stress.

I sometimes like to think how EP4 & 5 would have played out if she was still around. I think her and Christa probably wouldn't get along, she'd think Omid is dumb, Vernon she would not trust right away, and I think her and Molly would probably get along. No way she would not go with Lee to save Clem, unlike with Kenny hating Lee and not going, I'm almost certain even if she hated Lee she would go just for Clementine.

Only if she would've realized that before she cold-heartedly MURDERED AN INNOCENT GIRL who also is the love interest of (depending on how you play the game) her best and most trusted ally.

I'd make the bold assumption that she was a bit jealous of Carley. While she was mostly all alone after that her father got killed she saw that her "best friend" and that bitch who didn't recognize her as their leader at the drug store got along good and enjoyed eachothers company. Lilly obviously disliked Carley a whole lot. Lilly obviously depended on Lee and his understanding. She didn't want Carley and Lee to be together because she thought that maybe Carley will make Lee turn on her or something of that nature. Lilly didn't want them to be together. She went mental and clearly wasn't making sound decisions. She didn't think about neither the group nor Lee. She cared only about herself and her own situation. Then scared of what the others might do to her she fled in the RV.

... and died in a horrible unlucky wreck when she was hit by a freighter locomotive crossing the railroad tracks a few miles the other way. It was Kenny. Kenny killed her. "The bump? Nah, it was just unevenness in the tracks", he said. No. He was driving under the influence. and I'll stop now because this is stupid.

Not everyone's Lee was in love with Carley. Mine wasn't. Plus a lot of players saved Doug so no I don't think that's the reason.

My personal playthrough, I was so pissed when she killed Carley that I left Lily's ass on the side of the road... It was purely reactional, all rage, and then Clem looked at me like I'd just kicked a puppy...

That's true but you pretty much become really good friends with her no matter what in this storyline. Plus, Lilly doesn't know how you really feel

Even if your Lee was good to Lilly, she steals the RV regardless. She knows Lee was close to Carley/Doug, and Lee had just told her to get in until they could figure out "what to do" with her, so I think she could be afraid of Lee at that point (also considering his past, she considered him a murderer). I think the stolen supplies situation and subsequent bandit assault made her feel like she could no longer trust anyone but herself.

Lilly leaves after she kills on of their own, and Kenny becomes too distraught over Duck and Katjaa to be a leader. You notice that Kenny stops leading the group as soon as Duck dies. Lee then becomes the Leeder(get it LEE-der? Haha, ha, huh. Nobody?)

I don't blame her for taking the RV at all. She knew she was in a bad spot after what happened, cause what could they do? Option A, kill her. They cannot keep a prisoner and will never feel safe around her. Option B, kick her out of the group. Who knows how bad they would leave her. Taking action and stealing the RV is the best she can ask for at this point. It is really potentially dangerous situation she leaves the group but we have seen people doing pretty greedy things for their own good and as Christa said in EP5 Vernon stealing the boat is something they themselves would probably have done just like Lilly stealing the RV.

Because she's a selfish bitch that didn't give a damn about anybody else but herself and her dad. She stole the RV because that was a quick getaway. It was a selfish act that left the group vulnerable in a dangerous situation. It was bad enough she steals the RV that she didn't even work on in the first place then she goes a pulls a stunt that screws people that brought her along in the first place instead of ditching her.

She killed the whole group for all she knows. Two kids. Three if you count Ben as one. At least one good friend (Lee). A mother. If the train wasn't in working condition they probably would be dead. I hope she thinks about what she has done.
