Kenny to appear in season 3?

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
This is just all hypothetical of course but since everyone is debating whether kenny is undead or alive and if he'll appear in season 2 i thought i'd put up my own theory. I think he did survive but won't appear until the last episode of season 2 or first episode of season 3. Just imagine if he didnt appear in season 2 everyone would be saying i told you he was dead and no one would expect to see him in season 3, it would be a huge shock. This is all theory of course, but i just think telltale wouldnt have made it ambigious if kenny wasnt going to return in the future, either as a walker or still alive. Im interested to hear everyone's 2 cents on the topic. :D

We don't know in what timespan season 2 will play out. Maybe it's a few months. Maybe it's a number of years?

Maybe in 30 years in-game time we'll see a Gandhi-looking old man Kenny make an entrance like Gandalf the white.

It can't be any longer than the comic book timespan and thats what 1-2 years?

I have a feeling Season 2 will be a new group and it will take place at the 3 month mark in Season 1, and at some point we meet up with Molly, Omid and Christa, or Clem. Or maybe even run into Vernon.

That'd be neat if you run into him as a new character and your group wants to help them or something but as the player we know they screwed us over before. We'd want to be dickish and kill him but our new group would be all like "Let's help them out guys!"

Yeah good point. Well if Kenny survived that and we find him alive months/year later i'd say he would have had to become a total badass! :D

I'm pretty sure I saw Kenny get bitten.

    me too

He wasn't bitten, there was quite a few threads about it with zoomed in screenshots and all,it never breaks flesh or even rips his sleeve, it nearly got him though, whether he got bit off screen....no one knows

I don't think Telltale would go out of their way to change Kenny's model to show the bite considering how insignificant it was. Take it as you will but I definitely heard a crunching noise when the zombie lunged at his hand.

Only time will tell who's right friend :D Im keeping my fingers crossed he's alive

At the very end when the game gives you a run down of all the different characters it says Kenny was lost to the herd. And after playing the game through a second time Im convinced Lee died as well. Damn what a depressing ending!!

It says "Lost to the Herd", Yes, But It doesn't say dead.
It says dead for plenty of characters, just not him. Why? Time will tell.

That's if Telltale allow you to do anything to him. Remember the game gives you an informed choice. I wanted to throw Ben from the train when he told me he had been giving the bandits supplies, not just because his actions led to the death of 3 people but because he got angry with me and swore at me for implying he had something to do with it. The game's story was set so I couldn't do anything more than Telltale would allow for that part of the game. If Vernon was in the second season Telltale would probably change his behavior and make the protagonist be his ally and if Vernon did die the game would probably make us try and save him.

Remember this is the walking dead. Telltale went out of their way to paint the picture of a world where no one is safe. The idea of Kenny surviving an attack from a herd of zombies without any weapons would be very unrealistic anyway but even more so for the walking dead. Some people paint the picture of Kenny being some kind off badass when he is anything but. He's not a Tyreese,Abraham or Michonne type character. The only person who's ass Kenny could kick is the player's if they weren't good enough to defeat him on the train. Everyone that fought him in the game that wasn't controlled by us kicked his ass. Larry kicked his ass even though Kenny through the first punch, Molly put him on his back when he pissed her off and she was probably Ben's age. The "invalids" as he liked to call them kicked his ass if he stayed to protect the boat even though he was armed.

In episode 5 Kenny was screwed! When the game says he's lost to the herd that is wording for how he died. Telltale didn't need to spell it out. This is the walking dead they expect us to work that out for ourselves.

When Lee got bitten their were some optimists that believed he was alright and said that skin wasn't broken because they didn't want to except Lee was bitten, again this is the walking dead. Kenny was screaming out in both scenarios for a reason. He wouldn't be screaming if he had got away. The game was meant to be sad. The music at the end was designed to suit the story and the mood. It would be very cheap for telltale to bring back Kenny in the same way it would have been for them to have allowed Lee to survive the bite. Omid and Christa's situation is different we never saw them in any danger so they could be fine or they could have been bitten but as far as Kenny goes he couldn't have escaped the room or the streets without at least getting bitten.

Hopefully, no one in the game will ever be like them. I don't like the comics because they show those super-badass characters that are nearly imposible to kill and that don't know such thing as fear. The game shows realistic people, stuck in difficult situations and that handle them in plausible ways.

Fo realz. Watching Michonne on the TV show has been awesome, getting to see some pretty great zombie kills, but how many people in real life are actually like her? I can't think of anyone that keeps a katana lying around their house. At least, no one that actually knows how to use it, mostly just meganerds who think it's cool. If they tried to use it to kill zombies they'd be far more awkward about it, lacking all the cool that she does.

There actually is a reason why she owns that, in the comic at least. She used to have fencing classes and her and her boyfriend lived next to a person who apparently owned the katana. One night, she went searching for supplies and found it.

The comics try to explain it all:
    • Michonne is effective with a sword because one of her hobbies while in college was to fence. She also enjoyed weightlifting.
    • She didn't actually have the katana on her, she found the katana in one of her neighbours house. He was one of those "meganerds" you were talking about. Originally she clumsily killed walkers, although, given time, she retained her prowess with fencing.
    • She's really cold and detached because she previously had lost both of her daughters, her ex, as well as her boyfriend. She's grown use to it all due to the amount of time she spent on her own as well as it's been quite a long time since the start of the zombie apocalypse.
It all seems very convoluted though.

I don't particularly care for neither Abraham nor Tyreese.
    They're both dead anyways.
And if you guys don't like any of those characters you'd absolutely hate a recently introduced character, Paul "Jesus" Monroe. He's the most ridiculous character I've seen yet. I basically just read the comic books for Andrea, Michonne, Rick, and Carl.

The video game has Molly for a unrealistic character anyways.

Molly was nearly killed back in Crawford, and Lee can overpower her when they first meet. I didn't really follow the comics and I don't like those charcters that much, the few people I liked (Shane, Glenn, and Billy) are dead. About those 4:
-Michonne is nuts like Lilly when she snaps, except she is always like that.
-Rick is another of those super-badass charcters, except he has only one hand and he's a complete psycho.
-Carl is a one-eyed sociopath, I hope Clem won't become like him.
    -Andrea is alright, I guess
