Afterthoughts.

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
So I replayed the entire game after the finale came out, over my Thanksgiving break. I've thought about it since, the game has now won awards, and so forth. But here are some thoughts/questions I have.

1) I keep reading Christa is pregnant. I never discovered this; she never revealed it. I always thought I was nice enough to her and Omid, but how exactly did you find out about this?

2) Speaking of, what the hell happened to those two anyway? If Clem did meet up with them, they are lousy parents (think Carl's Mom in the TV show) if she just gets to wander the countryside alone with a gun... ;)

3) Telltale writers are bastards. I go out of my (Lee's) way to keep Ben sane, tell him he's worthwhile, that he isn't just a screw up, ya know, try to give the kid a reason to live...and you kill him off anyway. You cold, heartless bastards.

4) I still don't understand Kenny's hatred if you don't try to save duck in the very first episode. I mean, he and Katjaa are there, Duck is just sitting on the tractor (that he rolled onto Sean), not really trapped. Poor Sean is stuck under a wheel of the tractor (thanks, Duck!) with no way to get himself out...Duck could just lean over and fall off the tractor before the walkers get him, and even then the walkers have to go through the tractor...just seems helping Sean is the reasonable thing to do, knowing Duck has others to help him out...

5) Why doesn't Lee tell the others about his crime? He (seemed to in my game anyway) obviously feels bad about it, the way I played it seems like it was probably non-premeditated, a heat of the moment, get into a fight, it goes too far kind of thing. Let them know...explain all the circumstances. I dunno...just seemed I'd rather let Lee have the power than Larry...

I'll stop here. :) Anyway, despite the hiccups along the way, thanks for the awesome game!

K.

Urgh.. again with the people not paying attention .. I'm guessing you're a fan of the TV series only, right?

    1) various obvious signs pointed towards it. Her puking, her avoid questions related around it. and her wanting to tell Omid something, but never doing so.

    2) Unknown, we'll probably find out in Season 2.

    3) Erm... the railing was weak, and YOU didn't kill him, Kenny did. would you rather leave him to the walkers?

    4) Kenny's hatred seems to come in, if you don't side with him mostly. Who knows, probably Childhood problems.

    5) You can. In Episode 3.

    6) Obviously Chicken :P

    1. It is hinted at when you meet them in EP3, and at the end if you choose Omid. She is sick in EP4 and Omid thinks from the baby and she replies she's fine rather aggressively because for some reason she doesn't want anyone else to know. She recognizes the baby picture thing by name which I forget, and she gets really upset over what happened to Anna on the tapes. Lee can ask her if she's feeling fine cause he notices the small signs as well. In EP5 the drinking in the attic scene shows it even more and Kenny picks up on it too by how hesitant she was to drink when she looks at her stomach. And finally at the end Lee already knows based on all the signs by now that when he says the "Walking for two" line she doesn't even deny it.

    2. Nobody knows for now, but I think they aren't shown in the last scene because they can also be told to go to the coast for a boat, or to go to the Marsh house as well as the train so they can't be shown in one set spot. Who knows.

    3. Just cause someone is still alive to redeem their-self doesn't mean they are immune until it happens, I like that he died anyway before he could it made it more realistic.

    4. Duck was grabbed, Shawn wasn't. Duck had a higher chance of getting pulled back and bit than Shawn. Plus he's just a kid. Also nobody else is around to help him expect you, no one else gets there as fast as you do.

    5. He does if you have Carley. Wish there was the chance to come clean another way if you had Doug.

Not paying attention? No, that wasn't the problem.

I -- as player -- assumed she was pregnant, but Lee never seemed to figure it out. It never came up in my play through. Does she or anyone else in the game actually say it? I don't think I ever got the "Walking for two" line when I played...and even if I did, my question remains, is there a way to get her/Omid/anyone else to actually say she is pregnant?

Er, "walking for two" is a 100% confirmation. Lee Everett says it right before you cross the sign, I don't know if you have to say or do certain things to spur the comment though.

    "Who's going first?"
    "You're the lightest..."
"He's got a busted leg, and you're walking for two."

    4) u cant really blame duck. kids do those things (of course he tried to drive the tractor, most kids are curious; he couldnt have known) and shawn is the one who took the responsibility at that moment when he allowed duck to be the foreman on the tractor

What I want to know about the whole Shawn vs. Duck situation is how the fuck did the tractor turn on? I mean the tractor wasn't on previously and there's no way Shawn would give Duck, a mentally handicapped ten year old, the keys to the tractor. And no, the tractor didn't just roll onto Shawn's leg, you can hear the tractor being turned on.

I see Duck's game, he hardwired the tractor and purposely ran over Shawn's leg. That evil sob.

    Key's already in it maybe?

I think the reason Lee never told the group about his past(without encouragement from Carley) was because he feared their reactions. A large part of Larry being an S.O.B. was because he knew Lee was a murderer. Maybe he was hesitant to tell anyone in case more people react like Larry and try to kill him or get him thrown out of the group.

I wish if you didn't have Carley encourage Lee to tell everyone, Lilly would ask him about it if your friends with her at that point, or if you told Clem in EP1 she would ask about it and with one or both people talking about it Lee can decide to just come clean with them and/or everyone else.
