Zombie Apocalypse (Who will you be)

edited January 2013 in The Walking Dead
So my friend and I were joking about a zombie apocalypse tomorrow and what type of person we'd be based on the characters in this game, and also who our other friends would be.

Turns out I'm "Mark". I'll seem useful and try to help out anyway I can, but my trusting nature will get me killed when we run into another group of survivors. My friend was the "Duck" character who goofs around a lot which annoys a lot of us in this tense situation, who then because of our group's "Ben" who is a clumsy fool who usually does more harm then good, gets him bit.

So out of your main group of friends, what character role applies to you the most?

Edit: Gender doesn't matter, it's more about what the character does in the game and their personality.

I'd imagine that I'd be like Mark or Doug. Trusting, friendly, and loyal although naive and would likely die quite fast.

I know this a little bit off-topic (sorry!) but I've recently been having fantasies about The Walking Dead too. I've been having these back-to-back dreams (I love those dreams) where the setting is a sequel to another Telltale-esque The Walking Dead game. The playable character wasn't actually me and I got to make decisions similar to the Telltale game. I was, however, a NPC who's role is to be somewhat like a leader. My character really believed in the preservation of humanity and the goodness of others. This would later lead my character to making naive decisions, e.g. I tried to communicate with a group of bandits which would lead us to losing our camp and two of our group members. I was seen as a weak and naive leader by most other characters but was also nice and loyal. Later in the game you get to chose who would lead the group. The other character, whom our group met later, was Cam, he's a dick but is considered a stronger leader due to his belief that survival is more important than humanity. You get to chose who you want to back up leading to a meat locker-esque decision where another group member, Taylor (her along with another character were our resident farmers of sorts), gets trapped in a house with a lot of walkers surrounding it. You could either back up Cam who believes saving her would result in more casualties and that she'd want us to leave her, or me who wanted to save her for we'd be no better then those monsters if we left her. My character gets left behind following a walker raid on our main base regardless, though.

I honestly really love those kinds of dreams / having conversations about zombie apocalypse. Such a cool genre!

Damn you got a good memory haha. I had a zombie dream literally last night and all I remember about it was I had an axe from my shed and could barely hit and kill a zombie head with it.

i would be Ben/Doug, basically an older Ben with some of Doug's practical nerd skills, i would need someone like Lee, Kenny or lilly to keep me alive long term (zombie killing will probably be my weak area), but i can fix things and i know random trivia and "interesting" facts i can tell people and i would find stickers for Clementine :)

Omid, maybe. Not helpless, but not an amazing fighter, and not naive but willing to be trustful a little more than is wise. Plus I'd still have some hope for the future, and I can occasionally crack a good joke.

Probably a Mike. Trusting and seemingly nice guy who'd die quickly.

Maybe a Ben. I think that's why I like Ben actually, he pretty much is exactly how I imagine 90% of people would be in a Zombie Apocalypse, probably myself included. Well-meaning but scared to shit and completely useless.

Minus the Looney Tunes-esque removal of the axe blocking the door antics, of course.

I think I'd be Glenn. Kind spirited, trusting, always wanting to do more to help others, willing to go out of his way to save strangers and lay his life on the line to find and protect his friends. Though i would probably die in the process very quickly.

I think id be Kenny. I would do anything to protect my family.

Doug/Larry. Pretty good with computers, but also has minor anger management issues.

I'd be my Lee. Not as physically powerful as him (I'm more a Ben in the physical sense. Tall and lean.) Personality wise, I'd be Lee. 85% of the time, the dialogue choices presented were what I was thinking or what I'd say if I spoke up in a situation like that.

I'd probably end up in the middle of people a lot, trying to keep the peace. I'd watch out for those close to me the most, but also do as much as I could for everyone else.

    I sure as hell couldn't
choke a man out one handed and melee my way through a herd of walkers or even beat the hell out of a guy before my hand would likely shatter. Lee's much stronger than I am.

Seems like a cop out to pick the main character, so all around if I could pick a character I was most like it would be Glenn from all forms of The Walking Dead media (except for the show where he is much more physically adept than the game/comic). Someone who would probably be on the sidelines, but be an active part of the group. Never have any aspirations of leadership or make any of the tough life or death decisions, but still willing to take risks for the good of the group.

    Molly, light on the parkour.

I'd probably be a Ben, but maybe to a slightly lesser extent. I'd probably freeze up in the most intense situations and quite likely endanger people, but above all else I'd try and retain my morals. A bit like Dale and what he said in the TV show 'I may not survive very long, but when the world went to shit, at least I'll be able to stay it didn't take me down with it.'

I'd be a zombie. I live in NYC where the population density and the dearth of escape routes would accelerate the speed of the spread of the zombie virus by a factor of like 10.

Plus I'm out of shape, possess no survival skills, and don't even have much food in the house.

Even though I AM a male citizen, Christa. I try to take hold of the situation and can get hard-headed when somebody starts freaking out.

    W.....what?

Clearly, the only possible way to construe the phrase "I'm out of shape" is to mean that he's 600 lbs. and has a huge cookie stockpile, right?

I don't think I'll make it very long when the zombies come. I'm smart and I wouldn't shy away from braining one of them, but a lack of athleticism of any kind is gonna get me eaten post haste.

Well, if we're talking Walking Dead zombies, you don't need to be able to run far to escape them, since they only walk(poorly). They're dumb as bricks, so being smart could probably make up for any shortcomings in physical prowess. It probably wouldn't take much to outsmart them anyway(In episode one, they all abandon the fence after hearing a few gunshots).

Katjaa. She's probably the most similar to me. Middle aged mom who's family is everything to her. Calm in a crisis. Tries to keep the peace. But I'm tougher than she is, more like Christa. With Carley's shooting skills. Need a composite character.

I don't think I really fit into any of the characters of the game.

Both my daughter and wife say I'd be Lee...but I didn't play a "Good-guy Lee." I played "for the group" Lee and, well, let's just say sometimes sacrifices had to be made (such as Ben).

At 6'6" and 300lbs I think I'd be a pretty dang intimidating sight as well, both alive and as zombie!

Cross between Ben, Doug, and possibly Lilly. I'm like an older Ben, but with a bit of Doug's intelligence and trying to make people laugh, but I'm a little like Lilly because I don't trust anyone at first sight. I won't pull a gun on them or anything, but I'd be wary of them and keep my eyes on them until I'm satisfyed that they won't be any trouble for me or my friends.

    Probably Mark.

    I'd be Shane.

It was one of those lucid dreams, I guess. It was really cool, I've been having The Walking Dead dreams for the past week now.

I think I'd be Mark. Like you said, I'll be useful at first but trust people too easily, which will eventually get me hurt. Or killed. Or eaten. Whatever floats your boat.

But my friends say I'd be a bit of Ben, a bit of Clementine, and a bit of Carley. Because if I was told that bandits had my friends and that I could get them back if I gave them supplies, I'd give them the supplies. Apparently, I'm also quite brave, which I guess the Clementine part is, I'd insist on going to Crawford and I'd climb through the windows etc.

And I guess I'm pretty good with aiming ranged weapons, so I suppose that's where the "Carley" came from.

But overall, I'd say I'm Mark, and my friends say I'm mostly Carley.

(Sorry for the double post, my edit button isn't working)

On second thoughts, I'd be either Christa or Omid.

Like Christa, I'm quite mature and usually don't appreciate jokes in tense situations, but like Omid I'm quite brave and will jump into things without looking, I'm not completely weak but not the Hulk either, and I can be pretty witty.

Probably half Ben, half Lilly. Around strangers I don't know and without anyone I care about, I'd be a mess too, yet I'd manage to stick around long enough to piss everyone off when I make mistakes... And it sounds about right with Lilly, only trusting one person out of a bunch, being quick to find when something's up and assuming things I shouldn't be. Which makes me sound bad, but it's true...

Ben, except I'll be slightly smarter and more paranoid. I'd try to do my best, even if no one really appreciates what I do.

Mark I think. A usefull guy who can really come in handy, trustworthy, loyal and friendly. All around a nice guy.

Or Shawn, since I see Mark and Shawn as very similar characters.

I wouldn't fit into any of them. If I wanted to be like one, it would be molly since I always loved the idea of being sneaky. I wouldn't trust anyone and if I met Larry I would just stick a pickaxe in his face. I wouldn't trust anyone. Even friends, the only ones I would trust would be family, even though I would sacrafice myself. At my house it realy isn't... ideal... Half of the time we would be tripping up, starving, and barricading doors! Me and my dad would probably survive for the longest amount of time. I realy like talking about this stuff! (I think from your post you would probably be very loyal, but paranoid a bit like me) anyway, one of my friends would be a Duck but about 20 times as stupid. He wouldn't last 10 seconds.

I want to be Carley, but ...sigh... I'm realistically like Katjaa.

I would be one half of the couple who shot themselves. Would not want to live during a Zombie apocolypse.

Probably along the lines of Omid, but darker...I found myself wanting to make light of situations fairly frequently, despite being extremely emotionally attached to the game. But I did whatever I thought was best for the group. Sort of a blend between Omid, Kenny, and Lee I suppose. I sided with Kenny a lot because he was right a lot. Only bit I disagreed with him on was the Duck situation. I was really worried that he'd become a danger to the group, albeit less worried than about Larry, since Duck is smaller and more manageable.

Clementine, I'm really stubborn but I'm a fast learner as well x)
I'm probably just useful in getting into small spaces =.=

Also, Omid too. I always try to make people smile and joke around, keep the mood light. >.>
