Kenny's a good guy!

edited December 2012 in The Walking Dead
I've seen so many people call the Kenny character a dick, or a dumbass.

Kenny won't be your friend at the beginning of the game if you choose to throw his son outside for being bitten. If you don't do this there's still a chance to be his friend, if you side with him at all times and feed his son. That's a pretty fair bargain, considering Duck should be fed because he's a child and Kenny's argument is basically siding with you anyway.

Anything after this, you have to give Kenny a break. His entire family died, not to mention he gets over it in about two days. He can lash out at you but he's going through the toughest experience of anyone in the group.

I really want this to be a straight-forward poll, no in-between's.

Except it also works in opposite; you can stick up for his kid at the pharmacy, take care of his family during the rationing, etc. yet, try to give Larry a chance and refuse to help Kenny crush the old guy's head while his daughter's watching and you're on the shit list to the point he basically leaves you to die a couple of times over the course of the next week.

He is quite the character. I am torn if pro or counter. He can be a good buddy but if you dare ever disagree with him or don't always support him he will stay unforgiving.

Also he is so damn demanding. In Crawford when Lee and Kenny talk about who goes on the boat Lee mentions that Molly saved Kenny's life by pulling them up. Then he says "Yeah, and what has she done for me lately?". When the life saving was like 1 day ago. There are many scenes were he seems like a real asshole but also many where he seems like he would be a cool buddy.

I will conclude I am pro Kenny in a normal life situation and anti-kenny in a zombie apocalypse.

If it was a question of "Ben or Kenny?" I'd pick Ben every time, same if it was "Doug or Kenny", I'd pick Doug. But any other character, and I'd pick Kenny.

    WHO CAN RESIST THAT MOUSTACHE.

Pro-Kenny all the way. In my game he and Lee had each others' backs since the beginning.

i do think clem has it harder her parents died and so did her caretaker and clem has to shoot lee ( maybe ) she was scared at all times. while walking through a walker infested street she wouldve been scared and to see her parents coincidentaly placed next to eachover... she didnt even have the choice to shoot them... was kenny kidnapped and locked in a room? was kenny a 8 year old kid that had to see brains smashed in... was kenny the one who knows her parents/family are walkers? Nope so thats why i think clem had it harder than kenny.

EDIT : did kenny have to hide in a treehouse wishing for her dad? WITH scarce food and the fear of a walker in her house?

Originally I was more so pro-Lilly but the more I play the game the more I shift towards pro-Kenny.

In Kenny's defense, Kenny's family death was sudden and unexpected, while Clementine still had a tiny slitter of hope that her parents were still alive, although deep down she knew they were dead. She was already seperated from her parents a few days/weeks before the apocalypse since they went to Savannah. Seeing Clem's zombie parents was kind of expected :|

I'm not "Pro-Kenny" or "No-Kenny" I didn't side with him on everything, but I tried my best to do right by him when it didn't go against my morals. He still bitched at me for not having his back, but he was the only person who came with you through the whole Episodes 1-5 and died(?) for the cause. That has to count for something. It also depends on which episode it was in. Episode 1, most of Episode 2, and Episode 5, he was cool. The end of Episode 2, Episode 3, and Episode 4, he was a dick. But, most of that was understandable. I can tell why he does something bad, which sets him apart from someone like Lily.

TLDR; I'm kinda torn between liking the guy and disliking him.

I never been with a black man, but I so totally would date that man.....LOL

    Kenny is white.

I really liked Kenny and Lily, both. I wished they would just get along one day. I wish many things about that game. Sometimes even I forget that this is the walking Dead, to be honest.

    Pro-Kenny

Kenny felt flawed and human to me. He doesn't have it the worst out of anyone in the game; it just feels like it because you see his tragedy up close, but he suffers a lot. He has my sympathies, even though I don't hesitate to go off on him when I get the chance. Didn't have your back, my hindquarters!

Ever since Kenny came back for me when Larry suckered punched Lee at the drugstore, I decided that Kenny is a friend even if we disagree. And did we ever disagree! I sided with Lilly over Larry, shot the girl out of mercy, argued against moving towards the coast in the RV. Even though I disagree with him frequently, my gut told me he was a good man. I think he proved that at Episode 5.
