Is the game more accurate to the original story than the television series?

I like both, but I have to admit that the game is a whole lot better and makes me feel like I'm part of the group with choice of responses and whatnot.

So, I never read the comics, but is the game precise to the authentic story?

P.S.: Activision's The Walking Dead seems like a disappointment, like, Call of Duty mixed with TWD elements.

This is the definitive game for The Walking Dead! :)

Telltale's The Walking Dead is completely canon to Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead. As such it is completely precise to the universes mechanics. The show is quite precise as well with only the occasional early mistakes (e.g. walkers picking up stones, using door knobs, et cetera). It is, however, obviously not canon.

Telltale's game is much more faithful to the overall theme of the story though, that The Walking Dead is about the people as well as their relationships with others and definitely not about the zombies, action, blood, or what have you. It's more so a drama then anything else, which Telltale manages to display greatly.
