Episode 3 - Can I save the girl surrounded by walkers?

edited January 2013 in The Walking Dead
Every time I try to rescue her, I end up shooting her unintentionally or leaving her with them.

Can't I protect her? :(

Unfortunately you can't. You can only decide to either shoot her or leave her to be devoured.

Oh damn, I really hate both of these choices. :-/

    Thanks, SuperMeatBoy.

Funny, I tried shooting the walkers around her to save her first time around too! You just have to accept that you can't help everyone though. :/ Shooting her as seen as the most humane option, as it shows her getting her leg munched and therefore is doomed.

you cant save her because before you get a chance to shoot she was bitten, that is why it is a choice of not letting her suffer or taking advantage of the situation, not saving her or leaving her

My real life emotions apply to the game, so I couldn't shoot her seeing she was an innocent girl, instead I left her for the walkers as I couldn't get her away from them.

So you left an innocent girl to be brutally and painfully torn apart by monsters instead of the near-instant kill of a headshot? Weird.

I shot her exactly because she was innocent. Better she die swiftly if she has to die.

I did not shot the girl. It's about survival i think.

The worst scenario is killing a couple of the outlying walkers, then trying to shoot her and miss, thus leaving her to be devoured. :(

Huh, nobody mentioned what i saw? I saw some guy/girl shoot the walkers. Kenny however calls you out on it and forces you to stop.

So yeah, there's no way. The whole point of that scene is to either be or not be on Kenny's side.

It's okay, I apply my real life emotions too, and I left her as well.
The truth is, even if we did want to save her, we cant.
    We are only one person.
And I did agree with Kenny that we would've attracted the attention to us.
Though he told everybody in the group later on =.=

I left her for the dead, who cares it's inhumane, I gotta survive too God dammit.

I left her alive too. Couldn't save her and couldn't murder a innocent human. You may call it a mercy killing but I couldn't do it. She could have saved herself if she hadn't freaked out.

I kept trying to save her too felt bad for her.

i shooted her, its better than turning into a walker

didn't the game establish that being bitten is NOT what turns you into a walker?
back when we questioned the high school kid at the motel, he revealed that everyone turns into a walker upon death, not upon bite...

so how is shooting her in any way a "mercy killing"?

Being bitten kills you, and dying turns you into a walker.

    i missed that bit.
    thanks!

After she gets bit, the nicest thing you can really do for her is shoot her and save her from the agonizing death. I was trying to play smart and stay on Kenny's side, but it was tough leaving her for walker bait and hearing those screams. She probably wouldn't have made a great survivor though... Running out into the streets screaming like that.

think that's gonna play a part in 400 days? like if you leave her the survivors encounter her and learn about amputation and stuff, but if shes dead, they just walk past her?

    how is this non spoiler?

you can try to shot the walkers but than kenny will stop you.

I didn't shoot her to buy more time. I felt bad for not shooting her but in a zombie apocalypse shit changes. You can't think the same way about everything anymore :(

I felt bad for not shooting her, but I knew Kenny was right and I just could not say no to my friend, i guess I am TO loyal to my friends.

I picked not save her, felt like a asshole having to hear her screams of terror as she died.

It's somewhat dissonant to shoot an innocent woman when a few months ago you could spare the lives of man-eating killers.

An option such as [Save person -- collect no supplies] wouldn't have been that hard to do (since she'll die anyway).

I'm sure that would have gone down great with Lilly back at base camp. More mouths to feed, possible already bitten, no more supplies collected.

You can't save her, she was bitten so she was already dead.

You can choose get her out from her misery or use her as a distraction and let her being eaten alive.
  • edited July 2013
YOu cant sorry. When you try and shoot the zombies around her, kenny goes into his 'Let's be a selfish cunt mode' and drags you away from the scene. Screw kenny.

You can't save her. As others have said, you could try killing the walkers but Kenny will stop you.

It is her fault that she got bit because she was screaming like a banshee. I shot her though, she shouldn't have had to suffer
  • edited July 2013
Yeah she made herself the target with all that noise. Not much empathy for her from this corner. I left her so we could get what we needed. I think by that point in the story when so much time had passed if you don't know how to stfu when walkers are nearby, you're just bait.
  • edited July 2013
I shot her to end her suffering,I know it may seem stupid, but I still got about 18/20 medical supplies,so it didn't affect that much, though Kenny was pissed.
  • edited July 2013
I left her to buy me some time to take the medicine and stuff. If you shoot her you will have less time.
