It's really cool seeing this game get the recognition that it deserves! I hope Telltale is proud of what they have accomplished!

Great news! I'm not only happy that Telltale is getting the recognition it deserves, but I'm also happy that it's getting the money to keep its talented staff during this crappy economy plus the money to make an even better season two!

    8.5 million episodes.
some people only buy 1, others all and some others might buy 2-4.
Anyhow that averages out to 1.7 million full games sold

Assuming that Telltale had a budget of $5 million or less, that is quite a large amount of profit. I am happy to hear it, and I hope the money is put to good use for season 2.

Telltale still made over $40 million from episode sales, not counting episodes that were sold at a discount. That's a lot of money from a relatively small company with a relatively small budget.

Nice one! Goes to show what a good story does for a game!

Good news, but I think the game deserves way more sales. They would probably get more sales in Europe if they would support some language localisation.

I think that is only going to grow over the next few months.. They'll probably sell 20 million by the time season 2 starts coming out

    Nice!

Now take that cash and make Season 2 even better! Haha

Good! They deserved it, and hopefully Season 2 will be great as well :D
  • edited January 2013
Congratulations! They've more than earned it. :D

They will have a much larger budget for season 2, so yeah, it's going to be awsome.

This is good news, I hope it shows others that you don't need a big budget and top of the line graphics to be successful. You just need a good story.

+ voiceacting +amazing characters. Just story doesn't cut it if the rest is bad or mediocre.

im not surprised that such an epic game is getting this much attention, if anything, it should get more and more sells. I think that season 2 will get a lot more sales because of the HUGE cliffhanger in season 1. I'll definitely be buying season 2 the moment it comes out. I just wish it's sometime soon :>

Has anyone seen updated sales figures for TWD.. now that they've had retail releases around the world I'd be interested in what the sales are up to now...

I would like to think that it's now over 10 million, but I really do not know for sure.
