I fail to see how those are related in the least but... Woot woot, 60 GOTY awards! Hell yea telltale way 2 go!

Because a true complete game would actually be enjoyable for the people that play it. But it turns out a ridiculous number of gamers end up with a steaming pile of a game.

It'd be like your car being consumer-reports top pick but then 5% of them have transmissions that fail after 50 miles only to have the manufacturer claim it was the fault of the driver.

It doesn't make sense to reward good products with mediocre execution and non-existent support.

I have no idea how these GOTY awards are awarded, but I'm guessing that people/users/gamers voted for this award. So I guess you have to start blaming them.
OR if the winners are chosen by magazines, journalists, companies or other third party groups, it wouldn't surprise me if they haven't even played through the game.

As for my personal opinion, I absolutely loved the game, but I prefer story and acting above action and graphics. I totally understand that people don't agree with TWD being game of the year, ignore the bugs for now. Compare this game to a behemoth like the Halo series and it will completely fade to the background. And this is exactly why I don't really agree with game of the year awards. There are so many different genres of games and so many different tastes in games, it's really impossible to choose 'the best one of the year'. Do I agree that it's the best game of the year? Yes, but I haven't even played all of the other contestants, so my opinion is pretty much biased.

Right, back to the bugs. I am lucky to be one of the Mac players who has been able to download and finish the game. It took me more than 6 months though. I was looking through my e-mail and saw that the first mail to TTG support was July 2012. This was back in the day that I was trying to download episode 2. This problem was fixed in September... After finishing episode 2, I couldn't download episode 3, so there went another mail to support. No response afterwards. It was frustration after frustration and finally, after a lot of patience and patching from TTG, I was able to download all the episodes.
And that's when the savegame problems began. As soon as the game crashed (and this happened a few times, but really no that much to be a big deal), my savegames got corrupted. Being the asshole I am, I never backup my harddrive, so there was no going back. Back to the start of the game. Two weeks later, again, no more savegames. So back to the start of the game again.
I finished the game in December 2012, started backing up savegames everytime I quit the game and still now and then just start up the game, just to see if it's working. I haven't been able to find the time to do a second playthrough, but I'll be sure to update you guys.

All in all, I was frustrated, asked for a refund (or rather a fix), got really angry, etc. I can totally imagine what the other people on the boards are going through, especially if they can't play or finish the game. I sometimes browse through the Xbox support forum, and that's just shocking. It's unbelievable how many people have problems with a retail DISC version!

Yet, I still love the game and it's still the game I will remember as my favourite in 2012. As for season 2... I hope, really really REALLY hope things will be better and everything will run smoothly. It would be ridiculous if TTG didn't learn from these bugs.
