PC Problem with Episode 2

I absoloutely love the Walking Dead game! I played through once completely fine and was interested in viewing different story lines. However, I got the black screen with an axe to the right that many people on PCs (Window 7 in my case) have gotten. I uninstalled and reinstalled both the game and Steam.

However, after I play episode 1 now, if I attempt to select "Play" for Episode 2, it asks if I want to generate story decisions for Episode 1, even though I already played it. I'm looking forward to seeing other story lines; please help!
