What if Glenn stayed at the motel?

edited January 2013 in The Walking Dead
I've always been asking myself this many times in the past, thinking of what would happen if Glenn didn't decide to head to Atlanta. Now, I would like to hear opinions on what you all think would've happened if Glenn stayed with Lee and the others.

he would have gone getting us all the supplies etc in ep3. he would also get a crush on carley or later molly in ep5. instead of leaving our group molly would have screwed his brains out in the garage. he would have been the one to jump down to get the walkie talkie. we could have pulled him up because he is much more agile than christa.... can't make stuff up for the rest but he would have somehow survived and lived happily ever after. And get some every other day.

    Here's what I think:
    • He'd be doing the bulk of the runs into Macon
    • He'd be extremely lonely without Maggy
    • If you saved Carley he might develop a crush on her and would be hurt when Lee returned her feelings
    • He'd be good friends with Doug
    • Would be depressed when Carley and Doug died
    • He'd probably vote to leave the motel because there isn't much for him there or would be completely indifferent in the matter
    • If he'd gone with you instead of Kenny to the final run into Macon he'd probably try to save Beatrice, maybe even get himself killed
    • He'd have a Doug / Carley-esque loyalty towards Lee
    • Lilly would probably suspect him, she didn't seem to be that fond of him although given his kind nature she might not have
    • He'd defend Ben
    • He'd be good friends with Omid
    • He'd probably try to get with Molly, maybe even go with her when she left if she returns his affections (unlikely)
    • He'd vote for Ben to stay with the group
    • He'd go with you to find Clementine unless you told him to stay

Game takes place before Ricks crew meets hershel, thus he has no knowledge about Maggie's existence.

I meant he'd be lonely without a woman in general. He said himself that he didn't have much to live for without a woman, and felt depressed thinking he'd die without getting the chance to bone another chick.

On a side note, I completely forgot Maggie was spelled with an "ie" instead of a "y."

I think he would have been another of the "neutral" campers when it came to the infamous Kenny/Lilly fights.

I also think that he, instead of Clem, would be shimmying into the small spaces.

Like the well at Herschel's farm.

I don't think even he would be able to fit into most of the stuff Clem went into.

    Definitely not the doggie door.

? It has nothing to do with Glenn's race. It has to do with the fact Glenn is always the one who ends up doing/getting stuff for the group, from getting the zombie out the well to getting vital products like Lori's pregnancy pills and hair conditioner.

    Ohhhhhh. Oh. Ohhhhhh!

That's actually really true. He'd probably be left doing all the dirty work.

If Glenn stayed at the motel, Rick would be dead.

And the whole group, since Rick is the one to make them leave the closer surroundings of Atlanta.

So Glenn is basically a reverse Ben?

Or maybe Glenn would've been the key to have most of Lee's group survive by the end of Ep 5, but him leaving doomed one to save another.

You don't know Glenn from Comics nor show?

He is extremely fast, he is the runner. Being a former pizza delivery driver he knows his way around in the atlanta area. He is also very courageous and selfless. Will easily do all the hardest and most dangerous shit for the group without hesitation. extremely useful groupmember. He also doesn't boss people around, he has no problem taking orders, he's not the leader type. Very optimistic guy, good for group spirit. Basically the perfect guy you wanna hang around with in a zombie apocalypse.

So... yea, pretty much the polar opposite of Ben.

He wasn't really optimistic around this time I believe. I seem to recall when Rick first joins the group Glenn was pretty depressed and the only reason he was the only one doing supply runs into the city because he felt like he had nothing to live for. Everyone else in the group had friends or family but he was all alone and had the least to lose if he died there. It's not until the farm where he starts to get better.

he was. you are most likely talking about his TV appearance.
I am talking about his original character in the comics. he seems more optimistic, funnier and in general more humorous in the original. doesn't make much difference either way whether you use the original or not, he is/was one of the most reliable and useful characters in the entire franchise.

His soul would have been reaped by Ben as well......

I am talking about Comic Glenn, and I'm not disagreeing with that, I'm just saying that I got the vibe that he was depressed around this time in TWD before meeting Maggie.

He wouldn't have met Maggie and that would have made me very sad.

Ben or Clem would have gotten him killed.

Glenn would likely be alive by the end of Episode 5 considering he's, in my opinion, the most adept survivor of anyone in the series as well as the most resourceful
Yep, I've read the comic through Issue 100
. He would have likely been with Lee much more than Kenny since Glenn has always been the guy to go into towns for supplies.

Rick would likely be dead, having never found Glenn and never found a way out of Atlanta safely. Everyone else in his group would probably be dead too since they would have either stuck with Shane who was never going to leave the camp outside Atlanta and froze to death or would have been attacked again and been all killed, or split up into smaller groups and died individually.
