just downloaded and already want my money back

I can't do anything once I get out of the car and pick up the gun at the very beginning, no keystrokes or mouse options will do anything, the zombie cop just crawls up to me an eats me while I click on him and say what happened! Any idea what I am doing wrong or is this a bug?

    there are onscreen instructions.... just crawl back, grab shotgun and ammo and kill him
