The Stranger's Voice

edited February 2013 in The Walking Dead
So, am I the only one who noticed that the Stranger's voice sounded really different over the radio to his actual voice. I know it's odd to say, but there's a rather pronunciated difference in speech. Example: Over the radio, he seems to have something of a strong Southern Accent whilst in person he possesses a rather quiet, monotone voice. Compare:

The voice on the radio was a placeholder, I believe Chuck's voice actor recorded it.

They found the voice of the stranger at the last minute.

I assumed they changed it because his voice sounded too similar to Chuck, or they thought it didn't fit the way his character actually looked.

Here's something interesting. Roger Jackson (the voice of the Stranger on the radio) is also the voice of Ghostface on the phone in the Scream movies, even though Ghostface is always played by a different actor (or actress!).

I assumed The Stranger having two different VAs was meant to be a subtle nod to that.

I assumed it was because they still hadn't cast an actor for the stranger yet and just had the guy doing Chuck cover it. :p
