Where is my happy Ending?

edited March 2013 in The Walking Dead
hi everyone:) Like the title says,do you think even if it was possible or extremely difficult to accomplish, Telltale should of left a possibility even if it's ever so slim to achieve 'you're' own ending? should the players choice of being a mean Lee and letting others meet with their own demise just so you could protect Clem and yourself have greater effect? also ive seen other threads about playing as Ben or Lily as the new player for season 2? why would you choose to play as Ben? he run off when Clem was surrounded in Savanah and Lee asked him to save her,and Lily although badass wouldn't be a right choice, heres my question because i can't see how this wouldn't work and with the fan support...DID LEE ACTUALLY DIE AT THE END WHEN CLEM LEAVES OR JUST PASS OUT AGAIN(if you choose not to have her blow your brains out? what if? Lee wakes up,tied to the radiator, one arm gone, realises hes still alive and sets about finding clem all over again, tracking her down, meeting new groups, heading into the countryside, this could be great:)

I don't think Lee (or anybody) would survive a bite from a walker. And TTG is currently working on something "special" for TWD before season 2 and it may as well be some sort of happy ending where Lee survives the bite from the walker by finding the only antidote that was ever created. But this idea seems a little too far-fetched for a game like The Walking Dead.. still, it'd be more than happy to see an alternate ending where Lee and Clem make it out alive.

just hope cutting off limbs could be the antidote:) i can imagine it now, after Clem meets up with the 2 strangers on the hill,Lee wakes up(after 2 days) to cries of help from nearby, hes survived the bite, now to rescue Omid and christa on a rooftop.

If Lee survived I would be severly p***ed. Not because I don't love Lee as a character, I do and I was gutted when he died. But because his survival would mean his journey is completey obsolete.

Story>characters guys, it always has to be.

Not looking forward to Clementine's death at all :-( .

I don't know about you but at least Clementine survived. That's a happy enough ending for me, they could have made it much worse. It is The Walking Dead after all.

You yanked my chain bro -_-. Well... time to get Bruce Lee :D

Also, when he first fainted it could have been from exhaustion, as in dehydration/starvation/tiredness x stress. I think Telltale should have our choices matter to the fact that at the end of the game if you made all the right choices Lee reunites with Clem, and depending on how Clem's personality was affected, would team back up the duo and thus be the 'happy' ending :D yes? yes? I think YES. Haters >.>

True, that's one good thing. AND don't say that! You trying to jynx her or something? Now she's going to die :winslow:

    Way to fail. :p

I so hope that in the first five minutes of the next episode Clem dies. Just so that I can laugh at people like you. Always be prepared for characters to die. Always.

Although that would be terrible pacing. High shock value but terrible story telling.

I don't care about anyone else, but if Clementine dies, I stop playing. Simple as that.

lol yes. Yes he did. You do realize not many people like Carl of the series? They could EASILY kill him off. I'd be surprised if they didn't. And TWD always kills off your favorites. The only reason Rick hasn't died is because he is the central figure of the comic/show, and it's always a risk to do that. Telltale probably decided to kill Lee from the get-go because they didn't know it'd get so popular.

Anddddd, then you can watch the game fail if that happens.

It's not going to happen. At least not that early, though I doubt they kill her off at all in season 2.

It was a fairly happy ending that Clem is Alive, Christa and Omid are Alive, Lilly may be alive, Vernon and the Cancer Survivors are alive on a boat.
Anyone surviving at all is a happy ending...

I think a lot of fans won't play it IF Clementine dies even though future games could continue her story, what would be the point of all the stuff that has gone before and i think she is in the same mold now as someone like a Daryl Dixon character where the fan base make the case for the character being too strong to kill off.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI'm honest nothing can be done.
They gave this end and that's the part you can not go back at least not in the walking dead if you do you justify your mistakes, like yours as writers, is very bad idea can cause problems within the work area, as the likelihood is one in a million, you know, I go back to the same create characters that feel familiar choose the best one to stay safe from zombies, stop fighting with humans revives the genre, many complain even colleagues here who missed the line, now you're maps of the area where he was Clementine tour later this area wineries railroad, if the new character known internal combustion engine 2 and 4 stroke and type D, you have plenty of material to create a new and Total history and stop falling into the same (2 and 4 is equal ty type D (2T scooters and motorboats), (4T cars and trucks) and (TD trucks, cranes, trains) for motorcycles know if you know but you do not truck it creates.

I Hope not,i think we are all putting a lot of emotional energy into keeping her safe, and i hope Telltale take note of this,to kill her off would be a slap in the face and i know that this is what makes WD so good the unpredictability of deaths of characters, but not Clem:p
  • edited March 2013
Let's just hope they don't kill her off, or I would run into the next liquor store and spend a month's worth paycheck...
but seriously: killing her off would be... a statement, that really no-one at all is safe, I hope she makes it though, because good storytelling or not - I don't want to see her die, that would be too much, Lee's death was damn hard, and I don't want to imagine her's... just no... come on...
  • edited March 2013
Yeah, I agree. When she got grabbed at the store, I thought it would be the end of her. I was like "NO!!!!! Dammit Lee, why did you have to go down now!!! No! I'm handcuffed! Grab the bat Clem! GRAB IT!!!" lol. I was screaming, which I never do to well, anything. And I hear you, I'm not a drinker, but that might give me something to drink to haha.

With them killing Lee, it's kinda hard to predict what will happen. I never thought that would happen, at least "this early". Something tells me Clem is gonna die sometime later on, but not early i think.

Robert himself has even said he could kill of Rick anytime in the comic book. That he does not "need to live" through the 300 issues that's supposed to come out. Who knows, maybe TTG are the same? We don't know.

What we do know, is with the death of Lee. No one is safe. NO ONE. Usually the character you play ends up being the hero, the one who lives a long an happy life (not everytime but most of it).

I dont wanna say Lee was no hero. For what he did before it all started he (depending on how you play of course) a very great man. Hopefully he will get honored in some way in the next episodes. Kinda like Clem remembers what he taught her in season one, appearing in a flashback sequence or as a "ghost" (not a real ghost but just memories that clem has).

    And that's my first post!

Neither am I, well at least I don't think having a beer occasionally counts as being a drinker :D but that might be a reason to drink to, and once you start...

And I hear you with the screaming at the TV, that was a completly new thing to me, but the first time I was yelling at the game was in the street in Ep 4, where the very capable Ben (haha) somehow decided his life would be worth more than Clem's, however I wonder why neighbours didn't complain after the jewelry store, I mean it was in the middle of the night and I was yelling like crazy  :D

Happy endings don't exist in the Walking Dead universe. But hell, and I've said this before, Clem's death would only make for a disappointing ending. If you think about it, Season One would only serve as build-up to an 'epic fail' if Clementine were to die, since it was basically based on protecting Clementine and teaching her to fend for herself.

It also all depends on how long the game will go on. If Season 2 is the final Season, can it end and will people be able to "let it go" if Clementine lives? They obviously wont make it so there is a happy ending if there is a chance for a third season.

Thinking of it that way, "letting go" of season 1 was hard enough... I did though, then I played it again... and since then my forum posts increased again... however if season 2 is the final season... it might make sense, I might have read somewhere that they want to wrap the series up with season 2, but I don't know if I really did read this somewhere... and even if I did if it was official.

I think they should try continue this as "long as they can". Just read the comics. It's been going on for years, and it's STILL interesting especially the new character who looks like the voice actor for Lee ;)

I just can't see there being a happy ending. The only happy ending i could see is if they find a cure. A place where "they will be safe" wont be enough as we all know something could happen.

As this is the same canon as the comics and follows it's "timeline" a cure is not even in sight. I can't even imagine how it all will end... Goddamn.

Not sure, he's only been in one issue so far. But he seems to be very important, well he is but i dont wanna spoil :D

Well the comic wont spoil the game.. It kinds does cause they are the same canon. So if you read the comic you will know what happens to Hershel and Glenn for example who where in the game :D

I mean read some threads here about "Lilly appreciation" or "Would you leave Lilly if she killed Ben?" type threads. They have all the info and all the bulkiness to explain in full detail why I have right to hate Lilly to the core. And it's also like, she was supposed to be her. So, I still associate them.
