It is hard to get both Kenny and Clementine to like you

If you help Kenny kill Larry, take the food, leave Lilly on the side of the road, and drop Ben, you look like a jerk to Clementine. If you don't help Kenny, then Kenny is upset with you. Does anyone know of a way to make Kenny like you without looking like a jerk to Clementine?

    I never had Clem hate me, and Kenny is always at least mildly satisfied/calls me a friend. Ways to get to Kenny without hurting Clem: Help save Duck, defend Duck at the store, don't kill the brothers, feed Clem and Duck(at least, feeding Ken also helps), get water for Duck, get crackers for Duck, leave Lilly, shoot Duck for Kenny, let Kenny kill Fivel(boy in attic), try to support him at house for plan to boat, try to console him on getting Shawn killed, don't say anything if you kill Larry to Kenny when you are alone(nothing nice to say and it pisses Kenny off), try to take his side sometimes when he argues with Lilly, don't fight him on the train, if you drop Ben convince Clem he wanted to die, if steal from the wagon, convince her it was right, etc. You have to side with him on killing Larry or Ben, as they are the main factors. I'd say kill Larry; Kenny takes to that the most.

    Either way, Kenny is your friend in episode 1, and will be in ep 5. Clementine won't think badly of you if you do the right things, or cover them up to seem not so bad.

    Clem never hated me, and I got the bro speech from Kenny in Episode 4. Just be nice to her and she'll like you (for the most part). If you drop Ben, and tell her that he wanted to die, she actually understands and says that that was what made Ben a good person. I really don't know what she thinks of killing Larry, since nobody but Lilly, Kenny, and Lee ever mention it afterward, so I just told her that he was already dead despite what Lilly was saying.

    Also, just cause you argue with someone does not mean they hate you. Real friends argue and say what they think about each other. You still gotta be nice and help each other when you think it's the best time to do it. Other than that, good writing.

    I think Clem will always like you unless you go out of your way to be a jerk to her.

    I wonder what she says if you remain silent during the explanations of your actions(dropping Ben, killing Larry etc.).

    Kenny can be difficult, but it seems like there's three big things that count for "Kenny math". Standing up for Duck in the drugstore, Killing Larry, Killing Ben. Usually doing two out of three of those will get him to come with you in the end and usually killing Larry and defending Duck in the drugstore also keeps him in a mostly good mood. With Ben there isn't much time for him to stay mad and if you tell him Ben wanted to die in the attic he admits he's glad you were making the call and not him.

    For added insurance you can also save Duck on the farm, feed Duck, shoot Duck and talk Kenny down on the train. You can skip on stealing the food and Kenny is surprisingly unangry about Lilly stealing the R.V. so really the only thing that might upset Clementine is killing Larry, and you can tell her it was necessary and spare the St. Johns. (Enjoy Lilly's reaction to sparing Danny after killing Larry. :D)

    Also I'm not sure if abandoning Lilly actually upsets Clementine. She must tell the stranger about it sense he could mention it but he draws fairly insane conclusions from the information Clem gives him. If you bring Lilly along and talk to Clem about her (before Lilly takes the R.V.) she doesn't sound too sympathetic. If you tell her there's really nothing you can do about Lilly, Clem suggests locking her away "forever". So yeah, don't think Clem is all too worried about Lilly. :p

    Clementine never hated me, but it was pretty much downhill with Kenny after the meat-locker.

    I did all those things, and both Clementine and Kenny worshipped me. I was always honest with Clementine about everything I'd done and why, and she mostly understood. I only sugar-coated about her parents.

    I did basically all of the things OP mentioned, and Clementine still loved me throughout. I always explained my actions to her and why they were necessary, and she usually understood (her reaction when I explained why I dropped Ben I thought was really touching).

    When I told her Ben wanted to die, I died a little inside when she said that he was a good person because he gave his life for others. The only decision I ever truly wanted to change.

    It actually reinforced my choice; it felt a lot more meaningful for Ben to go out that way than how he dies if he makes it to Episode 5.

    Even though I chose to save Larry, I was still nice to Kenny, feeding his kid and shooting him, but he still hates me.
