Possibly Chet in Season 2?

edited March 2013 in The Walking Dead
I know this has probably been suggested before, and I know that the shadowy figures at the end of season 1 have been talked about plenty, but I just had a thought that maybe the short, heavier shadow is Chet.
This would only be possible for some players, and I know TTG is fond of throwing people off, so if he were a possible group member, they might show his shadow because he wouldn't show up in everyone's game. Hopefully that makes sense hehe.

What do you guys think?

Is Chet alive in your game, do you think he would end up wherever Clem ended up, and do you think he would be a valuable member of season 2's group?

I have two saves and he's alive in one. I dont understand what he would be doing there and who is he with then? He's not that short and is much.. "bigger" than the shadow shows.

    That's my opinion.

That's part of what I was hoping to discuss lol. I don't know who he'd be with, given we don't find out too much about him. But I guess he could be with the cop whose name I forget (you meet him if you choose to go at night). If you went during the day, both of them could potentially be alive, and are from the same area, probably knew each other in passing, so on and so forth.
Also, if it's the cop that's with him (and I'm assuming it'd be the cop with Chet or the Chet-replacement) then Clem would know at least one person in the two-party group and be a little more willing to warm up to them.

I know he was much bigger, but after a few months of everything going to hell, maybe running out of food, it's possible he slimmed down a little. As for being short, I had a hard time telling. It seems like he was shorter than Lee, but I wasn't exactly paying that close attention hehe. :P But it is possible he's just with a taller person.

Good points, though, and very true. I'm more than willing to be wrong on this, as I find Chet to be neutral - don't care for him much one way or the other - but I know that there have been some interviews where TTG has stated that they didn't want to start off with a whole new group. Could be a nice little loophole hehe. :D

The chances of being Chet is really low because not everybody picked to go during the day where Chet is alive. I'm sure you already know this, but if you picked to go during the night, Chet is a walker. So it wouldn't make much sense for TellTale to put a character in a second game where in the first game, he's a walker to many players' playthroughs. The only way that Chet could be placed in the second season is if they replaced him with a different character for the people who chose to go during the night in the first season.

    Yes.

    That's what I was saying :P
I do think TTG would give misleading previews (as they have in the past) by putting a character that might not be in everyone's game in a preview.
Having said that, I do tend to agree with what a lot of people have said about the outlines looking liking zombies. I also agree that they're probably just "filler" shadows to mislead us.

But I did think the Chet that was an interesting thought. I saw somewhere in one of the multitude of interviews TTG has done that they didn't want to start off with an entirely new cast. Using the cop or Chet would be both true and misleading, as I doubt people are expecting to play as a one shot character. :P

No lo creo, es más probable que sea el mismo tipo que aparece al final del juego, esperemos que sea buena persona.

I have two playthroughs and on my other one he's alive. I don't really think he should come back because Chet didn't really build up much of a character since we only saw him for a little bit. Although, that would be cool if that simple choice of picking between leaving in the day or at night from the beginning can change our Season 2 playthrough dramatically.

@ Amigosolitario - I hope that they're good people, too. Although you never know with TTG lol!

@ AnnaSan - I am really, really hoping that those little choices do effect our game in S2. I think it would be funny/fun to go through several different play throughs, in which we might have 3 or 4 different people each game depending on choices we made in past seasons. (Perhaps in the final season, we might each have an entirely different group than other players).

No offense but this would be just stupid. They should not bring in a character just for the sake of a familiar face. I mean Chet was a nobody who didnt advance the plot in the slightest. He is an uninteresting character who had two lines, leave him out please

That is actually one of the reasons I suspect that they might.
He's an preexisting character that has not been established. I would expect him to die one or two episodes in if they were to bring him into S2, as he is more of a point-a-to-point-b kind of guy.
I just figured if there was a familiar face in S2, it wouldn't be one of the big characters. How boring if the two in the background really are Christa and Omid, and you meet up with Kenny by the end of the episode, and it's almost as if everything's okay again.
In any case, it was just an idea, a speculation. :P

lol! He didn't in my playthrough, either. But he's alive and well (as far as we know?) in my hubby's playthrough.
I can't wait to see how different season 2 is between us!

Depends on whether it's hot dish night...

    That is IMPOSSIBLE
  • edited March 2013
It most certainly is not impossible :P lol
It's impossible in a nighttime playthrough, but as far as I'm aware, he is still alive and well in players' games if they chose to go during the daytime.

Perhaps for daytime time players, one of the figures would be Chet, and for those who escaped at night, one of the figures could be Officer Andre. The second figure might be the new PC. Anyway, if they go this route, this could be an interesting way to tie Clem in back to the old world of season 1 before Chet/Andre would inevitably get killed in a few episodes, since that's the way TTG would probably have to roll if they went with such a "crossroad" decision.

Thank you! lol I couldn't for the life of me remember the officer's name! That has been nagging me this whole time lol.

I think it would be interesting, too, because it gives them time to expand the storyline. (They don't have to cram reuniting with living members from S1 into just 5 episodes.) Although I have a feeling I will be happy regardless of how they play it (with few exceptions).

Minor characters for Main characters for the win!

    ...

    That's a mouthful...
