Gears of war judgement..

Judgment just looks retarded..

so imo i should of known the game was gonna suck..

it looks like gears 3 same engine..

the campaign is about 9 hours on casual if you also do the declassifies... which imo are repetative... different weapons load out, low ammo, view is fogged to hell, occasionally you get a different one..

story is a 'playable flashback' but it's a bit confusing when the 'court marshall' dialogue is happening while in the flash back..

i haven't got round to the 'aftermath' campaign which is actually the unseen bit of gears 3 final chapter with baird n cole and paduk getting stuff together to help marcus n co in azura..confused ? BUT you have to unlock it ! by getting 40 stars... which is obtained in the campaign...

this game is more orientated to multiplayer BUT with only 4 maps for the death match and 4 for the over run/survival... it's a bit of a rip off tot hen ask for dlc money for some more... plus they held back two 'new modes' one of which is rumour has it execution..

then the beta or as they call it demo.. has unbalanced stuff going on bairds turret has too much range, the 'gnasher' has a slight delay it's fire rate, and the sawn off is semi auto with two shots it's stupid..wretches and tickers are stronger..

my 2 cents..

Excellent choice of adjective, there. Not offensive in the slightest.
so imo i should of known the game was gonna suck..
Why? You just assumed so? What was the basis of this assumption?

It is the same engine. It's the same engine as Gears of War and Gears of War 2 as well. The shocking thing is that they're able to improve engines over time to cause a notable difference given a few years.

Okay. How long is the game without the segments you don't like? Is it still of a substantial enough length?
story is a 'playable flashback' but it's a bit confusing when the 'court marshall' dialogue is happening while in the flash back..
This is hardly the most original storytelling mechanic and tells me that you have a basic failing to understand a common narrative practice.

Okay. Great job stating some facts here as though you're building to an opinion then not delivering one.

Well, at least you're being fair and considerate towards the developers for knowing what's best for the consumer base.
then the beta or as they call it demo.. has unbalanced stuff going on bairds turret has too much range, the 'gnasher' has a slight delay it's fire rate, and the sawn off is semi auto with two shots it's stupid..wretches and tickers are stronger..
I don't have any idea what this is referring to. It's a demo if its meant to demonstrate a game. It's a beta if it's an unfinished product.
    my 2 cents..
Clearly needs work. You start off as though you've not played it, then quickly shift your opinion as someone who clearly hasn't. As someone who has only played the second Gears of War game (Gears of War 2) (and enjoyed it, incedentally), your post fails to really address whats wrong with the game by making it a series of facts and accusations of possible future exploitation that's got no basis as of yet. I've got a passing interest in the series, but this has me much more interested than the third game (Gears of War 3) did and I fully expect I'll play it eventually as the developers aren't playing it safe and are doing interesting things to the mechanics, game modes, and storytelling.

I liked this game when it was originally called Winback.

hey ribs why the need to be so rude and picky about me more so than the actual subject matter hmmm ?

the spelling of judgement looks better and makes more sense with the e...

the fact epic chose their home language that looks stupid on the cover shows they have lacked thought on the game..

9 hours is normally ok with me as most games have that... but it just had that feeling of being alot of the same stuff and time flew by..

no mini bosses instead they give us a few horde waves sometimes with a objective or item to protect,

it's standard gears shoot from cover, the declassifieds are nice touch but they are optional sometimes fun sometimes annoying,

yes the graphics have improved and i actually enjoyed the aftermath more as it was like gears 3 just with the new controls and different enemies though the story ended with a cop out lame way of 'killing off' judgements new character.. and the bittersweet feeling of knowing more than the baird n cole as they 'sail off'

    but anyhoo...

Actually, judgment is used properly here since it's in a legal context, and judgment is always used when referring to a decision made by a court. It would actually be a little bit weirder to have it as judgement, as that spelling wouldn't be used in a court martial hearing.

Regardless, the type of spelling of a game's title doesn't have anything to do with the game's quality (unless the title was misspelled, which in this case it isn't).

Yeah, it is more common in the US. But, from that Wikipedia article (and the dictionary reference link it contains), in the UK it still would be correct, since judgment is still used when referring to an official ruling by a court.

Well, I saw several holes in your argument and I questioned them. I was very impressed to see you respond in such a fair way, though!

I understand it does a lot of things differently and some were fine with how things used to be, but the main reason this game appeals to me is they're not playing it safe - fifteen years from now, when this franchise is a distant memory, I expect most will only remember Gears because it started the Horde mode craze (and yes, I'm aware that Marathon and others had survival modes long beforehand) - and to remove that is showing a serious effort to do something exciting, which I do applaud.

but on the flip side lots of people wanted horde back me being one of them..

but as it stands now, they either couldn't do anything new to horde so they didn't bother putting it in and thus alienating some fans, instead they give us one mode renamed twice (over run / survival )with one having ai the other being online matches.. and then only giving us ten waves sounds short but in reality it kinda works, even on casual it was a bit close near the end with the rather odd ai design... i'm all for change and improving but why do they insist on short changing us with only 4 maps each ? after a few months that could get boring for some the early access / demo test highlighted that...

and then versus options which have a seperate 4 map quota

free for all with only cog soldiers ? why no locust (maybe cos they are more obvious enemies)
    team death match
    and over run

i forgot the others if there are anymore...

gears 3 had quite a few more options..

and epic/ gow-j now wants us to unlock two new modes via dlc ?

so yeah if you want a new game to have less content cos it's new and different enjoy it..

    update..

right so i've covered all the modes now even the 'first dlc' and only have insane difficulty and declassifieds to complete..

most of my points stand...still ;) just not really sure they thought things through enough... insane difficulty is brutal...(there is a way round it) worse than any of the previous gears...the ai is litterally on rape with no lube mode...an example.. using a longshot you aim 'out of cover' to line up a head shot about a second away from getting your kill... you die first..i should say they do alot of damage so it's doesn't take much maybe 2 or 3 hits..and lambent wretches are lethal..

melee is simply an insta gib and grenadiers have a serious grenade spam issue.. even if you kill them they have somehow dropped the nade once they go down..most of the time with no warning beep.. wretches are constantly moving and if they hit you once you can die from any stray bullets..

in general the nades cause alot of problems.. not so much cos of the 'auto stick' but cos they tend to be thrown from a flank out of view..a neat yet slightly annoying ai trick..

the declassifieds are the same in each difficulty but the enemies cycle through variants sometimes a good thing in some cases much worse...

i tried a vip event and found an epic reaper 'community' chosen person to be buffed up and gives an onyx medal if you kill them.... i thought i had got him once.. but no lol cos it's actually a special reaper skin and you gotta be quick to kill them i found a guy who was named as the reaper and sent him a message and he helped me out not by just standing around and waiting for me oh no he played the game and shot anything i only told him where i was and after several deaths i just ran in to him and took him out with a headshot as he ran past me..

Now epic/microsoft have releases alex brand for free and charge 160 msp for young dom/marcus.

and the title updates are making hardcore very like insane..
