Things you DO NOT want to do in Season 2

Now that we've discussed what we're wanting to be able to do in Season 2, let's talk about some of the things that we don't want to do or see happen in Season 2. (Excluding the obvious - seeing a in-canon death for Clementine)

For me, I'm not wanting to have to put down another child like Duck and Fivel (Even though I had Kenny shoot Fivel).

I don't want to see Vernon and co. again...despite how i may feel, i can't let vengeance be a thing...right?

Screw that, i want to strangle that conniving maggot with his own hands and hold a mirror to his face so he can watch as the last bits of life drain from his eyes.

Er... anyway, it's kind of difficult for me to choose one, but... i don't want to be forced to abandon a friend again. Kenny, Chuck, whoever. If they tell me to leave i want to say "Hell no!" and force my way through the walkers to stand by them until the end. Or at least until they die fighting and I'm dragged away by other survivors or something...

-I don't want Clem becoming like comic Carl.

-He's a favorite of mine, but I wish that Kenny is dead.

-I don't want any TV show characters appearing in the game.

...I think that's all I got for now.

I really don't want to play as Clem (No offense Clemy)
    ..That's it ._.

Bringing back Lee. If Lee survives the S1 ending... eugh.
  • edited March 2013
No Clemmy for PC. Also don't want a new story, I want the old characters/plot. I don't want the game associated with the TV show, but if they could bring in comic characters that'd be awesome! I also don't want Lilly returning. No :/

I don't want to see many crossovers with the comic or show, as I fear it feeling restricted by not being able to change any established canon.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn't mind you seeing, say, the aftermath or precursor to something that happens in the comic or show, just to reinforce the fact that it's in the same universe, but having things like Shawn Greene isn't such a good idea, because you know they die / live, and it kinda messes up the canon in the comics and shows when they should know something from what happened in the game, but have no idea because the game was made afterwards.

-I dont want Clem, Christa or Omid back other than in in the form of minor cameos.

-I dont want other characters from the comic or show as leads.

-Bssically I dont want any similarities from S1 other than a group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse. Retreading has certainly hurt the comics imo. Wouldnt want the same thing to happen to the game.

I do NOT want to see TV cameos, or "big" characters from the comic. Running into Rick's group would (as funny as this sounds, all things considered) ruin the illusion of fantasy for me.
Cameos from small characters... well TTG did a great job with the Glen cameo, so I'd trust them with others.
I'd more like to see what impacts this group will have a Rick's, if they want a little bit of a cross over. I don't want this scenario, but as an example - they go to the prison first and clear it out but have to move for whatever reason. Readers of the comics and watchers of the show would both understand that this is a place Rick's group will get to, and that this is a reason it was in as good (or bad) condition as it was when that group came across it.

I also don't want to see love drama. I don't care for love triangles at the best of times, let alone during a video game. (There is a reason I don't play those dating video games lol.)
If someone's in love, that's okay, it can even be helpful to the plot. But I don't want it to be S2: Season of Love lol. I don't want to have bickering about someone checking someone else out, or overtly 'it's all about these two' scenarios.

I agree with others that are saying they don't want to play as Clem or see Lee alive in S2.

Things you DO NOT want to do in Season 2

    1. Die. (the death of the main character is dramatic, but it already was, and need not be repeated)
    2. Clementine's death. (my personal wish)
    3. No more cliche as like "Let me go, save your self, don't care about me" (Ben situation)

    agreed.

i don't want fake choices like the "choice" of saving Duck or Shawn, and i don't want identical outcomes (with minor cosmetic changes) from different choices like chopping david's leg off and him turning into a zombie or not chopping his leg off and Travis turning into a zombie in the exact same way, and i don't want any comic characters in the game that have any bigger role to play than Glenn or Hershel (if there are any comic characters in the game)

I too have no qualms with references.

    1. I don't want too much plot armor, but I agree that another emotional last-minute death wouldn't have the same impact that Lee's had. I suppose I'm not ruling anything out at this point though.

    2. Seconded.

    3. I can still picture scenarios where someone may have to get left behind, but I hope they would avoid any copy-pasting.

    Totally agreed.

I also second the Clem becoming like Carl one. Please TTG, don't let that happen!

I don't want them to relate anything to the comic. Well, thats not exactly it. More, I don't want Glenn or Lily type characters in it. Glenn was okay, but there was no suspense with him as I knew he'd be fine. Same with Lily, the worst thing with her was that the Carley/Doug scene with her was forced no matter how you've played. Lily always leaves the group because they needed a way to get rid of her so she can go to Woodbury. I was fine with that at first, it makes sense. A shame you couldn't have affected her outcome but her leaving is still an amazing scene. But after Kirkman retconned her past I think it made ending Lily's character like that useless. She would've been an amazing contrast to Kenny for ep4 + 5, especially considering what happens to Duck and Katjaa.

    Lemme see Vernon and Co...

Now just come a bit closer...

    Hehehe... :D
  • edited March 2013
Meet S1 characters as a completely unrelated PC. I think it wouldn't make much sense if, say, you're a new survivor, never met any of the previous group before, but you meet Vernon and Co or someone similar, and the character instantly develops a mistrust or hatred of them because of the what the player previously experienced, not the character.

If they did 3 as in it changed something dramatically, I'd prefer it that way, otherwise those 3 would be mine basically.

I don,t want any other main characters to die
  • edited March 2013
Another Main Character dying would become repetitive.

    More cannibals would become repetitive.

More "Evil Communities" would become repetitive.

More group conflicts would become repetitive.

    More Walkers would become repetitive.

    More Episodes would become repetitive.

    :D

In all seriousness, please don't kill the main character again or introduce cannibals for reasons stated above.

I don't want to play as Clem.

I don't want the main character to die again, as good as Lee's death was handled, if they do it again ti will become repetitive.

Have the entire original group wiped again. Everyone who was in Macon with us died by the end of 5, with the sole exception of Clem. Don't feel the need to kill all of my friends Telltale!

    Things I don't want in Season 2:
    1. Death of main character(as stated by most players)
    2. Crossover from TV show characters(Oh God, please no Lori or Carl =.=)
    3. Having to make a choice, but not affecting the outcome of the situation(like Shawn and Duck situation)
    4. Same ending for everyone- Alternate endings would be a great thing!
    5. Reappearance of Vernon and his group... I'll probably end up murdering him o.o

I also don't want to see a man with a goddamn tiger ...

Of course! We all know all tigers on the planet immediately died as soon as the zombie apocalypse began, and thus can never be found again. ;)

I don't want to see undead animals, though. Walker dogs and kitties don't happen in TWD.

The thing I do not want in S2 is the Storage Device Lost Error. My game will not work anymore. Sad thing is Telltale will not respond much less help me.

    .

Agreed. I was one of the ones who didn't care that Carley died because who needs to have romance when there's zombies afoot? I will be very disappointed if they cave in and add that to the game. It is only barely tolerable on the show with Glenn and Maggie but it tests my gag reflexes all the same.

Definitely no more Clem and no miraculous survival of Lee.

I didn't mind the fight sequences but they were not real organic for keyboard users. All of the action sequences seemed to be tailored for the console gamers and I don't want to see that repeated. There was one fight in particular that literally took me days to do on my laptop that was over in a couple of tries on a friend's console.

I have only played on the PC, and the controls were fantastic and seamless for me all the way through. Were you playing it with one of those built in touch-pad things? If so, that would explain it. I can't fathom playing any kind of video game with those types of controls.

No more Kenny unless we see him as a Chuck-esque corpse. <3

Kenny. I do not want him in season 2.

He's awesome, but there's no way he'd have gotten through all those walkers in the alley without getting bitten along the way. And he definitely got cornered in the building.

BUT...there was a way out, when you are walking over the rooftop bridge, look below there is a lower bridge across with a walker on it,it connects to the building where Kenny jumped down into;)

Kenny, the dudes dead and a used up character. He died an honerable death, a better way to go than Mark or Ben ever got.

If they can right it well enough, Kenny coming back will not be a big problem.

invest 5 episodes in my guy only to have him die without any way of player intervention to stop it- its depressing and Im pretty stonehearted
please adaopt a Rick Grimes model for season 2

I am guessing you mean characters who are exclusive to the shoe,in which I agree,I also don't want the characters on the hill to be Christa and Omid,I feel that it would be great if we could find them later on and have Clementine rush over to them, but they don't trust us (if we are playing a new character which I am guessing we are) at first and try to keep Clementine close to them,at least for a little while.
