Greetings everyone, so I read on Gamespot.com a while back that Telltale was possibly planning some additional content as sort of like a filler between seasons 1 and 2? Any word on if that is still true and when that might arrive?
I think it will be (should be) a $5 DLC for anyone who has TWD downloaded. Free for people who have TWD platinumed. And it is a 1 hour 'Shortisode' of how Crista and Omid got out of Savannah. Who else agrees?
I personally think it should be a prologue to season 2... Where we introduce the new character and see them walking along the hillside and sees a little girl at the end. That way we can jump off Season 2 right where this one left off and already know a little about this person. Just my 2 cents.
I don't know if it will have any connection to Clementine's story, but I think a season 2 prologue would be a good way to connect a new protagonist to the apocalypse as a whole.
That is to say, I predict we'll start season 2 with a character who already has some knowledge of dealing with walkers.
Ben? I wasn't expecting him to feature. We'll since he's dead twice over (without a whole lot of uncertainty) it narrows the possibilities a bit.
It could be a miraculous escape with Kenny (pretty unlikely), A flashback between episodes 2 & 3 (but there was only a few weeks and no referenced major events like picking up mark in the Airforce base), a Ben centric episode focusing on his back story at the school (please no, he's so annoying) or some kind of really left field alternate ending/plotline scenario (which could be interesting, and maybe hinted by him referencing the possibility of dying again).
Can't think of any other possibilities. Good to finally know something (as well as effectively official confirmation of a dlc episode), though i'd rather have had other characters confirmed than Ben!

There's one other possibility...he's voicing zombie Ben. It's entirely possible that Trevor was not given any indication as to what the script would entail before he went in to record, therefore that tweet could reflect the fact that he doesn't know what Ben's role in this DLC is.
Hey people I was play the walking dead on Xbox 360 and then I saw the right scowl on episode 5 and when I did I saw episode 6! there is no name yet and its coming soon I don't know if its a glitch but I want episode 6!
Maybe he's voicing a different character. Just because he was the voice for Ben before doesn't mean that's the only character he will ever be allowed to voice again.
I think a flashback to Ben pre - joining the group is a terrible idea. We don't need to know more about Ben; we saw him evolve and we know his ultimate fate, so nothing we see can change our opinion of him.
Also, did anyone think of the possibility that the voice-actor is lending his talents to Telltale by portraying some new character that we haven't heard of yet?
^^ Actually I think some background information on some of the characters like Lee, Clem, Carley, Lilly, Kenny, BEN, Omid & Christa, etc. would be great. We don't need entire episodes for each individual character, but maybe a full episode going into the stories of each character prior to the apocalypse.
Some things are just better unknown. Flashbacks need to make some big reveal to work. They need to give something that will have implications in the future. That's impossible here; most of the group is dead, and if you flashback too far into Clemmy's life, she'll be in diapers.
An episode like that, totally dedicated to the past lives of Lee et al. would only serve to please the die-hard completion-ists... the people who don't want to move on from Season 1. Incidentally, it'd also sacrifice valuable time to introduce the new cast that we need in Season 2.
I'm afraid I'd only tolerate seeing "flashback" footage of anyone from Season 1 if it somehow tied in a new character.

Yeah, that would be pretty bad. What could work however is a story that is part flashback and part present day. Perhaps the new protagonist was with Ben prior to Episode 2 and they got separated, that could be the flashback part, then we jump to present day where they are still looking for him, only to find Clementine who explains everything that happened to Ben, what he did, how he died, etc.
I am very perplexed, I never thought the DLC would have Ben, as the best idea was between Episode 1 and 2, or after Episode 5, why would he need more voice work for his death if they have the sound of him dying already in the sound file?
For now, I'm going to assume that Hoffmann saying that his character may die again is a fairly good indicator that he won't be reprising Ben. He's a good voice actor, but I'm not hoping for a Ben-centered flashback.
I suppose coincidental cameos are possible if it's set before episode 2, but I don't really expect it.
Correct me if I am wrong but is voice acting one of the last things that need to be done before a Episode is released, and if I am right then it's coming very soon.
i agree with the majority, I DON'T WANT MORE BEN,character i didn't care for first time round, had too much on screen time,no no no,hopefully it's just a one liner like 'urrgggh' xD. can't wait to hear news about the DLC!!!!! and if Lee's voice actor is in it
Assuming Ben is the player-character for the DLC, I like to think it's only because Telltale wants to challenge our expectations. Maybe they're reasoning that since a fair majority of the gamers didn't like Ben, they can try to make us like him in the DLC.
It's not impossible, to be sure, but IMO I would have really preferred to see Chuck's backstory, or an episode that bridges the gap between Clementine leaving Lee in the jewellery store, and the open field where we last saw her.

I don't know. Something like that could aim to make Ben more sympathetic by showing some of the terrible situations he went through, but if Telltale was going to try and make us rethink our opinions on him I would have preferred to have seen it in the form of growth and character development. It'd just be odd having a flashback episode portraying him as any more selfless or courageous than the Ben we end up with. Heck, I could picture Larry having a more interesting backstory than Ben, as far as seeing what hardened him to the world.
I would have liked to have heard more of Chuck's story as well, though I have hard time picturing him getting his own DLC.
if it is ben flashback dlc there is a problem with it..
since ben was pretty stupid and lying/being clumsy.. how to make that interesting, heck even worth playing for the haters (me included)
other than seeing a lot of random kids screaming and crying and the occasional walker, even the suicidal pitcher girl 'walker' or even seeing them meet the bandits..
not seeing the point if it's not included in the season 1 'pass'
as for larry being hardened loosing your wife/mother of your daughter will do that..
A flash back of Lee showing what else happened and other background parts for others but Il say show us what happened at the airforce base a 1.5 episode with new characters that will be in S2 that way we get more Lee , clem , carly/doug etc and have an insight for potential S2 characters

...and therein lies the problem. No matter what Telltale could try to do with Ben, the player's decisions and actions would still be limited by the fact that Ben's a complete doofus who makes a habit of getting the people around him killed, however unintentionally.
Last time I saw Ben he was at the bottom of the bell tower with two broken legs and about to be a walker happy meal....you don't think he survived do you?
I know Ben and Clem were friends. Maybe it's nothing more than a few flashback memories by Clem when she and Ben were at the motel. Maybe something important to season 2 was said between those two but I can't imagine what it could be.

Which is part of why I don't expect to see Ben in any new major role.
I think the extent of his character arc (or plummet as it were...) is finished.

she must of had a hell of stash of daz then...
to keep it clean..

Holy shit! But...he voices Ben! What does this mean I wonder...

but it could be a flashback of him and his school mates and we get to see the suicide girl i forgot her name.. something pitcher ?
and how they came to be in the woods..
In my PC version nothing changed...
I think the possibilities are still widely open.
Anyway, a flashback episode isn't such a bad idea. Maybe it will allow people to have a different opinion on certain characters.
I'm really interested into what exactly this is.
