The game is based on the comic canon. The TV has deviated quite a bit from it by now though that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I think the game's writing is much better than the show's. That said, the show isn't bad. It has it's ups and downs, but it has me watching it on time every weekend so it's definitely doing something right.

Do you or a friend have Netflix? You can give a try on there before spending money on the DVD. Seasons 1 and 2 are on it now.

I'm not a fan of the show or even the comics despite loving the game. But a lot of people are so I'm probably just an atypical example. I'd say at least sample it before you run out to buy it on Blu-Ray. Netflix has the first two seasons on instant play and you could probably find some other places on the web hosting it.

That sums is good up pretty well, personaly I started watching the show first, that's how I got into The Walking Dead, I don't know the comics, so the show's storyline is something new to me, unlike to the people who already know them. Although they try to get away from the comic storyline here and there it is based on the source material, so the very basical things are quite the same, like where the group stays, most of the characters etc. As I said - all new to me. I can't wait till each new episode, and it is my favourite tv show, as I'm a huge Zombie and horror fan, though the latter doesn't appear really. If I had to choose which had the better writing, and which got me involved more I'd go with the game, it is for such characters as Kenny, Clem, Lilly, Larry, even the Stranger, a man that took something very important from me, and still I feel sympathy for him because he's going through the same hell we are in those moments when we're seperated from Clem.

I'd suggest watching Season 1 first, if it gets you to want to see more, then you know this show is something you wanna keep watching, personally Season 2 is my favourite, but from what I've heard on the internet many, many people would disagree due to the rather few zombie kills.

It's cool that the game is better for once, most of the time video games based on tv shows or movies are terrible but not the walking dead game!

I wouldn't recommend it. If you can get it on Netflix (30 days free trial) or some other service go for it, it saves you money and no regret of having wasted money on TWD TV.

As you can see around the web Season 3 has been putting a lot of people off, but you'll understand once you get there.

Well... the game is based on the comic, as is the show. However, the game is CANON with the comics, where as the show is not. The game is even better than the comics for some people, I'd agree to such.

Anyway, I don't recommend it. The show is good, but the game is MUCH better and I think you'd be disappointed. Watch it online or on Netflix, but I wouldn't waste money on a DVD. It's a decent show, though.

I played the game before I started on the show or the comics. For my money the game outstrips them all by a wide margin. The first season of the TV show is very good but the quality goes down afterwards, even in the current season of the show can be spectacular, other times it can be down right abysmal. The comics were great but the quality suffers after the Govenor arc is complete.

It's a shame that TWD TV keeps on dropping in quality because normally AMC shows are praised as the best (Breaking Bad).

Anyway, can't wait for Breaking Bad and Dexter's return! :)

TWD tv show is still one of the most popular shows on air. I didnt like season 3 while it was still airing but now that its over and I can look at it as a whole, I love it. I also really enjoy the comics and game.

It's all a matter of personal opinion. No one can tell you if you're gonna like the show. Most people here went in an uproar because of season 3 and especially the ending, but I loved it and it's still my favorite show on television today.

The only thing I can tell you is that the game is more violent and actionbased than the TV show. The show is more like a drama with some zombies thrown into it. Either you like this, or you don't.
