For an extra dose of sadness, this article was posted just yesterday.

I might not have always seen eye to eye with Roger's view on film (and certainly games) but I respected the man and will surely miss him.

Rest in piece, Sir. Rest in peace.

The Onion has a surprisingly meaningful piece about it.

I may not have agreed with a lot of what he's said, but his contribution to the realm of reviewing is unparalleled.

I had my ups and downs with Ebert, but never the less he was a man who was very respected in the movie business. I dont think there will be another film critic like him. Now he's with his buddy Siskel in the skies above.

His death caused me to watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_fAVEz-Y34

Which in turn caused me to watch a whole bunch of other episodes of The Critic. So I guess there's always some silver lining?

It always made me sad to watch that after Gene Siskel died, now it's doubly sad after Roger Ebert has passed away too.

It is a great episode though.

I've been traversing the countryside over the past couple of weeks, so this is the first I've actually heard of this. I clicked on the thread hoping that the title didn't mean what I thought it meant (somehow)... but it does. Very sad news, I must say; I respected the man quite a lot, and could always appreciate his opinions even if I didn't personally agree with them. It is certainly a huge loss to see him go.
