US release of Sam & Max Wii?

edited February 2008 in Sam & Max
JoWood announced Sam & Max season 1 for Wii a while ago, and now a release date popped up. Late April, if I remember correctly. But I haven't heard anything about an US release. Any infos on that?

The infos are that Sam & Max Wii is a rumor and anyone who tells you otherwise should be reported for immediate reprogramming.

Nope, it isn't a rumor. JoWood, the European publisher of Sam & Max, announced the Wii version in January:
JoWooD plant weitere seiner erfolgreichen Lizenzen aus dem Adventure Games für Nintendo® Wii™ zu adaptieren. Eines der nächsten Projekte: Sam & Max. Als Adventure des Jahres, gewählt von den Lesern des deutschen Computerspielmagazins „PC Games“ (zu finden in der aktuellen Printausgabe 2/2008), gehen Sam & Max bald auch bei Nintendo® Wii™ auf Verbrecherjagd.

It's already possible to preorder the title in Germany:
    http://www.amazon.de/Soulfood-Music-Distribution-GmbH-Sam/dp/B0012R2RRY/

It's coming to Wii - at least in Europe. I want to know if an US release is planned as well.

I just translated the Amazon page.

"All 6 parts of the famous SAM & max of series in a play! In the first episode former child star the soda Poppers TV-show devastate the neighbourhood. In the next the famous talc show host Myra holds her guests as a hostage. Episode 3 leads SAM & max to determinations in the vapor circle of the toy mafia in the Ted E. Bear mafia-free Playland and Casino. It follows SAM & max of ' journey after Washington, where the fool of President imposed a straight pudding embargo and next threatens to forbid weapons... Only with koepfchen and a quantity of heavy like exotic articles it is to be saved now at SAM & max the day, same to 6 times! FEATURE: - all six episodes for the first time in a singular fan package! - Fantasti word joke, great translation! - subtle like sharp humor with plentifully foolishness and Persiflagen - located versions contain additionally also the original US Voiceovers."

It looks like it'll be Season One, but possibly with Wiimote pointer functionality.

I'm pretty sure TellTale have made clear that their game (or was it games?) for the Wii weren't Sam and Max.

Personally, while Sam and Max would work well on a console, I think most people have already played them on the PC.

According to http://wii.ign.com/objects/142/14228259.html, Telltale has nothing to do with it.

It definitely is Telltales game, even if some other company did the port. JoWood also published the PC retail version of Season 1 in Europe.

    @Chris1:

Telltales WiiWare game isn't Sam & Max.

Given that nobody else has the source code to our games (making us the only people who would be able to legally compile said code on a Wii) I suspect that if there's a Sam & Max Wii announced, the announcement will be confirmed by us. Not JoWood, and definitely not an IGN gamespace database dump page.

And that's why I love Sam & Max. It's the only game daring enough to use koepfchen and a quantity of heavy like exotic articles. Steve Purcell is truly pioneer in heavy like exotic articles, and I salute him for it. He is a gentleman and a scholar. *wipes tear*

BTW, is that the confirmed title for 205? "Sam & Max: The Day, Same To 6 Times"?

    Sounds like it could be.
