Looking for an advanced FTP client software

edited March 2008 in General Chat
Hi all,
I want to upload some files to my website. So I am looking for an advanced FTP client software solution designed for ease of use by both novices and professionals. It should be powerful and secure file transfer solution. It should also have total control, security, efficiency, and simplicity. If you people have any idea then please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

Filezilla is pretty good - free, open source, easy to use... even has a server version as well as a client version if you want to host an FTP server locally. Available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X

Figured it was spam. Kind of an odd first post.

Kind of odd spam, too, for that matter.

true enough, it's weird forum spam, considering no links. I still stand by my recommendation of Filezilla :p

Looking at those other forums (like this one), it's two-pronged spam: the salient part will come later in the form of an "other" new poster weighing in with a recommendation.

Myself, I like SmartFTP, except that it nags me despite saying it's free for personal use.

    Crafty.

Quite. It's a bit self-defeating, though. It will generate many recommendations of competing products, done by people more likely to get listened to. I have to wonder if it won't do the company more harm than good.

    *click, then read below*

Okay... so, first Jeniffer Key asks for an FTP client, then Melina Jones advises her about this product... but it seems Melina has bad memory, so she asks again here in this forum. Luckily, Jeniffer remembered the advice Melina gave her earlier, and posted it for her here. That's what friends are for.

The funniest thing about it is that they honestly expect this to not look completely out of place on a games forum.

Is it sad that I look forward to funny spam posts like this?

Absolutely not...I found it to be rather entertaining myself..and it's a lot better than these primitive spambots that bluntly post links to some porn site on a, let's say, pregnancy forum..

Guys, don't be so rude! Ms. Jones was just coming here for some FTP advice, and you say she is spamming! Thanks to Ms. Key for providing a helpful answer, but sadly some foolish staff member edited her post. Don't worry Melina, I thought it was a splendid first post - it's not your fault you and Jeniffer both suffer memory issues, a problem which shouldn't be laughed at... I'm looking at you, Haggis!

    Edit: Oh.
    sarcasm, yes!
