(SPOILERS) A cool idea for a possible alternative ending for season 1?

edited May 2013 in The Walking Dead
Hey, so I was just in my room and a though came to me, what about an alternative ending for TWD season 1 somewhere down the road? Now I know there are probably countless threads about this same thing, and I know you all are probably thinking "oh.... another alternative ending thread...." but this is a pretty cool idea in my opinion. So it goes like this..... Instead of episode 5 ending to be one of the saddest video game/story endings in history, it could end on a higher note. Instead of Lee going out into the road to look for Clemenetine, and getting bit by that walker  , in this alternative ending, a character that died sometime earlier in the story never died, and went with Lee to go get Clem's radio. Right when Lee went to bend down to pick it up, the other character(s) tell Lee that he should check the pile of trash in the middle of the road for dangerous things, such as walkers. Lee kicks the cardboard off of the trashbags, sees the walker, kills it, and never gets bit. Lee and the other character(s) go back into the house, tell the rest of the group that Clem is missing, and that they will go to look for her, and the rest of the group stays and holds down the fort, and Vernon and his group never manage to successfully steal the boat. Lee comes back with Clementine, only the two of them, the other character(s) met a tragic end somehow on this rescue mission. The huge biomass of walkers never show up in savannah (at least not yet,) and the group gets the boat ready, and bring it down to the shore, hop in and sail away. The group is all happy, everything is looking up to their new future, and as the boat begins to sail off into the sunset, a walker hand pops out of the water..... Credits roll... This seems like it could be a pretty good future investment for Telltale games if they ever decide to make alternative endings to this game series. Let me know what you all think!

Personally, I thought that it would be not alternate ending, i thought that it would be opening final. I mean the situation with a Stranger. I thought that it would be a choice: to give him Clem and let him to kill you. Or, kill Stranger, get Clem, and stay in dead trap in Mursh house, with Lee, who will turn by walker soon. That would be awesome opening ending, because we don't know can Lee and Clem escape from dead trap or not.

Well personally I think it's a terrible idea.

Stories about things like the apocalypse and zombies should rarely have happy endings if they're intended to be taken seriously otherwise it's all just too convenient.

If what you suggested was given to us an alternative ending most people would think it was ridiculous that someone who was dead came back and oh look they weren't dead after all that's nice oh wow they just took the bite Lee was supposed to get, damn.

And I don't really get what the walker hand is supposed to be for, are you saying that the walkers can swim and that they go after the boat?

This is just my opinion though.

There is no better way to have ended Season 1, alternative endings just could not work.

I can see what you are saying, I guess my post sounded more like replace the original ending, with this new ending. I didn't mean for it to sound like that. What I was aiming for is that if TTG ever plans to make multiple endings, for example the original ending, and various other endings based on what options you choose throughout the story. And the walker hand popping out of the water is just kind of an idea for a twist in the story (walkers becoming smarter and learning how to do things like swim, climb up things, and who knows, maybe even communicate with one another.) After all, they might be dead, but that doesn't mean that they can't eventually evolve. Eh idk.. Just seemed like a cool idea if TTG ever plans for multiple endings.

Multiple endings would be nice in Season 2, but they all will likely be depressing and sad, no happy endings.

I wouldn't get your hopes up...

This isn't likely, sorry! We're pretty comfortable with how the choices worked in Season One. That doesn't mean other Telltale games will be identical to The Walking Dead Season One, just that we're not going to go back and change it all around. We like where it ended up. Speaking of...

I'm not too fond of this idea. Mostly because it's no where near as cliffhangery as the real ending was. Kinda reminds me of the ending to TWD tv series' third season.. not the way it ended, but of how anti-climatic it was.

Walkers don't do things like this. It sounds like what cheesy zombie films would do.

Mornai, do not worry as my hopes are not that high at the possibility of multiple endings, I honestly do not think they are needed.

Mmm... well firstly... You can have Lee check the cardboard, and he still gets bitten. That is what I did xD.

Also, Jake clearly stated it isn't likely. So... I'd go with no. I just want the new content to come out :/ It's been over 6 months now 0.o And past halfway to season 2. I'm surprised nothing has been leaked or anything. Either they are good at hiding things, or are good liars. Either way, I'd be happy. It's holding me over xD

I am sure the content will be in the summer, which for me starts next week so it won't be long now.

The idea of multiple endings sounds nice, but when you have the choice to either have Lee get bitten, and die, or have him alive and happy with his group on a boat and everything's all sunshine and lollipops, it wouldn't make the game very good at all.

If this game were to have this possible ending, which was possible to get over the original ending, it'd get a lot of angry reviews.

I like your ideas though. :)
