What if Kirkman made Walking Dead Game instead of Telltale
So what would of happened if Kirkman made the Walking Dead Game Season 1 instead of Telltale ?
Well i can imagine that if he was in charge of season 1 everything would of been different for example Lee wouldn't be a good guy he would a bad man who did many crimes and actually treat Clem like dirt , Clementine would end up as Carl at the end of season 1 and we can't do anything about it , Glenn , Hershel and Lilly would never appear , Kenny would be an actual monster , Ben would be a more of a badass teenager instead of a coward and pretty much he would of made our choices meaningless because if he had his way Kenny , Katjaa , Duck , Carley and Doug would be dead in episode 1 except Lee and Clementine and they would meet a new group in episode 2 and so on and so on .
So if Kirkman made Walking Dead Game and made everything different would you guys still consider this The Game Of The Year and actually like the game ?

PS- oh and probably 1/2 this forum would /wrists at the sheer darkness of it all
Oh- you went there. Ok then, lets go full Kirkman and say Lee wakes up to the sound of gurgling water, turns over in his sleep and see's Katjaa and Duck dead at the hands of undead Clem, who is now directing her sights on Lee. And there it is, 95% of this forums worst nightmare: Not only is she done for but you get the honor of the killing blow (add some more Kirkman) and the only weapon around is a chainsaw
Change nothing, not the graphics, not the gameplay.
The only change they need to make, is to say "To Be Continued..." at the end of the Season, and to have the final one have a good ending- like with 28 Days Later, or at least a good but sad ending- like with I Am Legend Movie.
It's not a fact, Rick still alive, and he's a main character of comics as like Clementine are main character of game.
If it was for Kirkman, I'd say she wouldn't even be the actual main character, but Lee would have been, and thus Clem could have died...
But don't forget everyone, that Kirkman at least had his say in an advising position, so he probably did have a certain influence on Telltale's story, how big or little it was doesn't matter.
Or how about the fact that this took place on the RV, and that right after the zombie Clem nightmare and you leave to talk with the others, she actually reanimated and attacked Lilly and Ben in the back(or just Ben). You(Lee) can't come to kill her, and are in shock, so Kenny lets Katjaa take the wheel while he goes to handle her. So just before Duck's death scene, Kenny deals with Clem's, and so both Lee and Kenny have a debt to each other, so to speak. It would tie in to a greater detail why Lee would want to kill Duck, have Kenny do it, or just leave him, since he already watched his own child die in front of him.
Hehe, that'd be sick to do, but as writers, I'm sure they'll keep us on our toes xD Hear me Telltale? Just keep on what you are doing, even if it makes grown men ball out in tears! (Evil music inserted here)
I would stop reading once Rick died. That issue. Wouldn't you? Who care's about side characters when the main one dies, imo.
If Batman died, Im not going to keep reading on about Commissioner Gordon and Alfred lol.
(Clem's not a character, she's a plot device)
Yes, Rick's death = end of comics I think. Same situation with Clementine, I belive that she was, and she still the main character.
I agree with this.
That's my point.
If I find out Clementine isn't in the next one, not only will I not buy it, but I won't know what to do with my Season I.
For reasons I have previously discussed in my topic: About Clementine... .
Don't get me wrong, if I had 1 single wish for Season 2, I would say have Clem in it, but even without her it can be a great game, or can it not?
However it will turn out to be, I will buy it and play it.
Is she a character though? Duck dies- the game moves on, Kat dies- the game moves on, Clem dies, you're starting over. She's more like the plot device of the game. Taking care of her is nice but toally unneccessary- as she wont die because of hunger or lack of maintenance, only during life or death QTEs, so she's like The ring in LOTR, if you will. The message inside R2-D2, that thing which must be protected at all cost or 'all is lost' so to speak.
There was a discussion about this a long time ago that she was even your moral conscience
Yes, but with no continuation to the first Season, not only is it likely they will crap out on the second Season, but it makes the first one feel completely meaningless.
I, for one of many, will just completely quit this if Clementine is not continued in some non-monkeys-paw way in Season II.
Isn't the game a perfect example of their being stories to tell in the walking dead universe without Rick Grimes? and vice versa with Clementine.
I would certainly give whatever would come after their deaths a chance, they've never been the be all and end all for me, although i do agree that it would be a huge risk to kill either of them, since they'd need to write it very well and have some strong characters to fill the void.
Well,I am pretty sure I read somewhere that Kirkman is going to kill Rick off at one point, and I think we all knew that is what would happen, but he even said that the comic could easily continue after Rick's death, saying that he isn't the main character basically,he is just one of them, and spoilers for the first volume of the comic, issues 1 to 6,I am sure, okay,Kirkman also said that he thought about killing Rick off in I think issue 6,he was going to have Shane kill him,and then Shane would be yhe guy we were following throughout the series for a while at least.
Yes, but this is equivalent to Lee dying.
They don't have to have Carl shoot his father then end up alone, crying in a field, expecting to find Glenn and then make the audience unsure.
(Please give spoiler alerts, I haven't finished the original series/ I was only aware this forum would have spoilers for the game )
Come now.
Are you really comparing Clementine to Duck?
Do you really think of Duck and Clementine as equally important?
I feel like that would even insult the writers to make that comparison, let alone the fans.
I am speaking fully for the story of the series.
If they're just going to ditch her, they need to at least give her a fair fate.
I mean, even the Silent Hill games had better, more clarified endings at least available to the players.
If an entire game series' playability revolves around one character, one plot point which if they removed would cause the entire next season (and replaying the first from what has been said above) to collapse and become instantly disliked without even giving it a chance - is it really a good game in the first place? Are you really enjoying the game if you're only playing it for one thing?
Surely a close to perfect game would be able to easily keep interest going no matter the death or twist. The other characters and environments (and story) should keep things going.
So I just find it a little funny when people say it's the best game they've ever played but wouldn't touch the series again if Clem was written out/died/whatever.
