Multiple Game Issue.

So i purchased the Humble Bumble Pack (TWD,S&M,Wallace and Gromit etcc) had launch issues (Using Windows 8) found a dll file which when put into the directory fixed it But im still experiencing Resolution issues where i cant change it (tried on Wallace and Gromit and Back To The Future) the game just crashes, Tried using the TTRES file (Might be outdated now) but everytime i click patch on any resolution i get "ERROR: no Resolution bytes found.".

Quite annoying as id like to change.

Any help will be appreciated.

    Does it also crash if the game is in windowed mode while you change the resolution?
    You can switch between full screen and windowed by pressing Alt-Enter.

    Also, please post your dxdiag info.

    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
    Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

    Now click on the button that says "save all information".
    It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

    Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.

    I have no good theory so far.

    You can try if it also crashes, if you remove the dll file you added, and unplug your gamepad/joystick/wheel instead. I assume you added a dinput8.dll, right?

    correct on the dinput8.dll file, tried unplugging my wheel as only peripheral connected and no luck. Its strange

    It's strange indeed.
    One more thing you could try is replacing the games prefs.prop file with one with low settings as described here.

    The game is playable if i dont change resolution so lowering the settings isnt needed, Id just prefer to play on 1920x1080 or higher then default.

    I know, i thought that maybe you would be able to switch the resolution, after starting with low settings. It's a weird issue, so anything goes.

    We can try something else. I just created a prefs.prop for BTTF Episode 1 with 1920x1080, and low graphics quality (attached below).
    If you can start the game with it, you can try if it still works if you increase the quality setting.

    Game launched in windowed mode when putting into full screen it crashed But TTRES allowed me to change resolution using that.

    Doesnt look like its applied the 1920x1080 tho

    Now TTRES wont work and game is in same state as i started.

    Is this just a windows 8 bug do you think?

    Or a TTG as only getting it with TTG games?

    I could only speculate wildly what causes it.

    One other thing you could try is testing the game in compatibility modes (Win 7, Win XP SP3, Win 98/ME). Maybe one of them helps.
