How will YOU be playing 400 Days?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
So with 400 days upcoming, and with 5 protagonists and each of them having alot of choices too. how will you be playing it? I personally will mix and match between my survivors, make one really good morale and stuff, and one a complete phycopath etc.

I'm not sure, I'll probably make them act authentic, if we get to play all of them (sorry, I purposely missed out on infos...) from your text I take it we do get to play all of them.
Meaning it's not like with Lee, where we determine how the one character develops, and where we could immerse into that one character. So I'll make each one act according to how my first impression of them is, judged by both actions and looks.

I hope I get to play both extremes with one being a complete sociopath and another one a literal saint.

you probably will. From comment's I heard from people who saw on character's playthrough at E3, Choices are thrown at you super fast, causing panic and forcing you to make choices in a split second almost. You're thrown into the frey from the start, but yeah. I meant like deciding a characters personality etc through choices and dialouge.

I'll most likely do the same thing I tried to do for season 1.
"What would I do in this situation?"

Though assuming that the five characters won't all be the same, there will probably be some inherent moral discrepancies.

Same as I did with Lee.

I do whatever it takes to keep the group alive.

I'm planning on having a group of friends over. We'll each play a different character's story. That way when I finally play Season 2 on my own, they won't all have the same moral compass as me.

Interesting idea assuming they come back. Let's hope the characters in 400 Days last long enough.

I'll probably play the episode a bunch of times until I'm satisfied with my potential S2 legacy. Hell, I'm probably going to play S1 again before even playing 400 Days, just so I can be sure of all my past decisions.

I'll play this episode every way possible, but like my main Season 1 file it has to be the first time that counts. No changing my mind and doing something different, what happened, happened the first time IMO, for good or bad.

So first time I play this will be on my first playthrough file and will stick with it to season 2. In the mean time I'll be playing every other possible way on my many other saves :D

I'll be trying to be an actual survivor. How I'd act if I was that person. I can see myself trying to act like a girl to fit their personality lol. I doubt anything seriously feminine will pop up, but just saying. I like to portray who I'm playing as. I'll try to stay moral, yet make choices that I feel are right nonetheless. I'll try to save everyone unless I feel my character would do different. Second playthrough is how I'd act to it. Usually I do them side-by-side so I get two legit playthrough's without walking in not blind to the events that take place.

I never rewind and always stick to my choices thats how i think it should be played its no fun if you can go back and clear up a mess youve made. You should stick with your choices. As for how im going to play the DLC il try and pick the choices that i would pick IRL thats always been the motive behind my choices sometimes i choose the survivalist options and sometimes i choose to be a rolemodel depends what kind of mood im in :D

i have a first reaction good bad moraly grey first save.but from some of the developments i didn't like so i then did a fresh game on save 2 which is mostly good /right better choices.

and actually finished that save 2 first, did go back and do my first save and finish it..seems kenny had a bug up his ass about me saving shaun first..aiming for middle ground neutral not picking sides which kenny takes as against him.

only clem / omid christa stood by my lee. kenny and lee kinda patched this up but the bite and missing a hand made it difficult.

my third 'pure ass hole' is only on ep2 begining of ep3.

So is this a side-quel and will it be fitted in with the main story line of season one?
  • edited June 2013
almost right dead watcher it's following on from season 1 'choices' and will impact season 2 some how..
  • edited June 2013
    Same as the main game.

I just try and react naturally without any preconceptions about who i want to be on my first save.

I will then use a second to correct things i later judge have been mistakes (for my "best ending"), though save 1 remains my personal canon.

Third save to mess about and try out alternate decisions/dialogue.

I'm interested to see what they mean by that. Hard to say at this point if there's actually plot relevance or if its just cameos/references (like walking past either Doug or Carley's body for example) that will be affected.

Never really thought about that. Hmmm I don't know how I'm going to play it a good guy I guess, do good choices but do things that might be necessary to keep others safe and stay alive. I'll just go with the flow since Kenny is not there I don't have to take his side every single time. Freedom!

the trailer /preview at e3 is claimed to directly reference the cancer survivors stealing the boat from who is left behind...in ep4/ep5

So this is a party traveling in the wake of the events of Lee's group?

these 5 are 'seperate' people brought together by the walkers/events

some aspects of what lee's group did may have some effect on what these 5 do.

only way to know for sure is play the dlc :P

True, although I think it would kind of cool to see this new group pass by the Motor Inn and the cannibal farm and stumble upon Doug's/Carly's body and even see the aftermath of Savannah. I wonder if that Sheriff is still alive from Episode 1. Maybe they'll run into him.

My theory is that the survivors of 400 days will meet up with Clementine. I'll be playing the nice ones carefully and the mean ones recklessly. I want to have a good group for Season 2.
  • edited June 2013
I'll continue to follow the rule that Season 1 taught me: "Hope for the best, expect the worst."
  • edited June 2013
I'll play the same way I played Season 1, by doing what I think I would do.
  • edited June 2013
Well,I have a couple of saves,a 'good' character, and one more focused on survival.

    That goes double for me.

Being how there is 5 characters, I feel like I'll play a combination of what I would do and what that character would do.

Unless it revolves around the Cancer Group - DEATH TO THEM ALL!
  • edited June 2013
    I'll play it by ear.

Season One was a "Do what I'd do" season... this will be more.... flexible.

In Season 1 i made my own decisions on my first play through, on my second i played as Lee and on my third i messed around and did the weird and funny decisions. So i will be doing the same for 400 Days.

Well, instead of what I'd do with Lee, I'll mix it up. Vince will probably be selfish, living in the now with little foresight. Wyatt will also be lacking foresight, but with a Clem thing going on with his friend, (David?). Russell, smarter than the others but a bit Ben-ish. Bonnie and Shel I kind of need more information on to go in with a plan. Both will probably try and stay with their groups and protect them. I think Shel will be most Lee like of the lot when I'm playing with them.
(Of course, that's all going to go straight out the window once in game)

But one thing I'm unsure about, didn't they say the stories would interact, but still playable in any order? Did I get that right? Because I really don't understand how that could work if I play them in reverse order for example.

    Based on the character

I'll do what feels right to me in that moment. One thing I like about this game is that sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't, like real life.
