Is Ben on the show?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
There's a Ben on AMC's The Walking Dead that I believe is Ben Paul. They both have brown hair, they both are high school students, they both are 17 or 18 and they both have betrayed their friends. And Lilly, both Lillys have brown hair, killed an innocent person, called someone a monster, and shot their victims in the back of the head. So are these people counterparts, or is this all a coincidence.

No, it's different Ben, from comics (but in comics Ben is not the same as in TV show... it's difficult you know)

No, they're different Bens. Also, the "Lilly" from the show is actually named Karen :P

Well... Both Bens are fuck-ups, so... hardly coincidence, maybe an easteregg? Or the curse of being named Ben (No offense to people called Ben, it's a joke.)

In the comics, was one of the kids not called Ben too? Or do I remember things wrong?

Aren't the comic and game lilly the same age? Ben and ben paul and lilly and lilly caul seem like the same people to me because of their similarities.

The game Lilly and comic Lilly are (or WERE, a better word of putting it), the same characters. Game Lilly's character arc was scripted with the intent that she WAS comic Lilly. After episode 3 came out, Kirkman wrote a novel "The Road to Woodbury", which explained comic Lilly's backstory. This deemed all connection with the game Lilly and her comic counterpart non-canon.

But yeah, it's all a coincidence that game Ben and TV Ben are similar.

TV Ben is very loosely based on a comic book character. In the comics, there is a family named Allen and Donna with two young twins, Ben and Billy. On the show, Ben's parents were named Allen and Donna, but Ben was an older teenager rather than a small boy and there was no twin. Allen and Donna also looked nothing like their comic counterparts and their storylines are also completely different.

I think it is a coincidence that the Ben the TV show went with is similar to the Ben in the game, but I will agree, they are a lot alike.

Both Bens royally screwed up without meaning to. I'll bet our Ben was with AMC's Ben in spirit, because no one else could have fucked up that shot Merle had on The Governor like good ol' Ben Paul.
