Do you think 'The walking dead' made TellTale famous?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
I personally think it did. Me and a few other people never knew about telltale until 'the walking dead' came out. Since it's their most popular game (be honest here) anyway, do you think TWD made Telltale famout? Or at least well/better known?

TellTale games are famous but the one I think is the most famous is sam and max the fact it has a comic, TV show, and game you'd think it would be epic and the walking dead may have thoses its the fact that Sam and max are older and probably Better but both involve clues, mysteries, and different episodes! That's my opinion but I think telltale games has been famous just from the start with their great "choose your choices games"

I never heard of telltale before the walking dead so it became popular to me. Not sure about everyone else through.

I've heard of Sam and Max but never knew who made it and never cared.

as a point and click adventure game fan I obviously knew about telltale, but point and click adventures aren't that popular anymore, so the walking dead did make telltale famous because it managed to get people who were not already fans of the genre to play it

I first heard about them with The Jurassic Park Game, heard a tiny bit about the Back To The Future game, but never actually got around to playing anything until The Walking Dead. I wouldn't say it made them famous, I knew they existed, but it did get people interested enough to start playing.

That and their storytelling really improved and The Walking Dead came out at the opportune time, given that most people who enjoyed games with well-written story had previously flocked to BioWare, and were then disappointed with recent releases and looking for something new. The Walking Dead was the perfect storm of a popular franchise setting, powerful writing and content, and good word of mouth publicity once it was out.

First saw Poker Night at the inventory briefly, did not capture my attention.

As a fan of TWD, when I heard of a game being produced I was obviously quite excited. For me TWDG made TellTale "famous", as this was when I first discovered them.

Well before The Walking Dead Game ever appeared i played many Telltale games which were very exciting like Sam & Max , StrongBad , Wallace and Gromit , Tales of Monkey Island , Nelson Tethers Puzzle Agent , Hector Badge of Carnage , Poker Night At The Inventory and Poker Night 2 and i also played Back To The Future , Jurassic Park The Game and Law and Order Legacies .
It's a shame really because these games aren't that bad they are really fun , yes the Walking Dead Game made them very popular but that doesn't mean they should turn their entire franchise into the Walking Dead .
Telltale Games is pretty much the only gaming company i trust because they aren't a company of sellouts like Valve and EA and they really love their fans and i think they are doing a great job .

Maybe you shouldn't have commented on him like that since he probably found it offensive, I would. He doesn't create post on anything, he has a point you know some of these people on the thread didn't know about telltale before the walking dead. He doesn't make posts for the sake of it, he has his reasons but I'm not him, I don't know how he feels. But still drop it before this becomes a huge argument.

Unless you were getting hyped up for the hot mess that Jurassic Park was, your answer is yes.

Never heard of Telltale before they announced The Walking Dead, and damn I'm glad Telltale was the company who made the best game of video gaming history!

Definately. I already owned a lot of Telltale games (Sam&Max, Hector, Puzzle Agent) but never knew nor cared about the developer. Only started "knowing" about telltale games with the release of the walking dead game.
