Anyone else else feel kinda betrayed by Clem?

*spoilers obviously*

So I was gonna take this to TWD confessions but their submissions are locked for the time being so.

Anyone else else feel kinda betrayed by Clem? I obviously love the game or I would be here and I thought the way the story ended was great and very powerful. However, I can't get past the fact that she trusted a random guy on the walkie-talkie over Lee. I mean we see time and time again that she's not stupid and she cares for everyone in the group deeply, especially Lee. She knows not to trust people after all the shit they've been through (especially with the St. Johns) and Campguy does specifically say he'll take Clem to her parents once he's "dealt with" Lee et al. I know she's eight and misses her parents but it just seems way out of character for her but I guess it shows how good the story was that it bugs me enough to post about.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

    I understand how you feel...

I really started to hate Clementine in Episode 4 - she goes through the dog-door without telling you, she follows you to the Docks when told to stay behind and she went off with the Stranger in the end.

She went full retard for the sake of a cliffhanger ending...

    Also: WELCOME!

She did get a little unruly during episode 4, but in the end she is still just a child. Clem was protected from turning into something akin to Carl, and thus no matter what training she goes through she is still a child at the end of the day, and that will never change(until she ages). She may trust Lee and care for him a lot, but she would most likely care for her parents who have been with her for nearly a decade even more so. Anyone could have told Clem they had her parents, and she probably would have believed them, because she's just a kid.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS TOMVAHKIIN :) Anyway I have thought about it but I never felt betrayed by her but I did get really frustrated in episode 4 because she wants to help a lot even through those thing are dangerous so I want to keep her safe but not hurt her feelings. I just wanted to protect her, I didn't mean to make her cry because I said I don't know about searching for her parents, why did you run away Clem why? :(

Cheers for the welcomes dudes. TeamKenny I re-did that bit cause I felt awful two but if you lie she senses the lie and cries anyway. I think that was TellTale's way of justifying her running away to meet Campguy because she had no hope of finding her folks with you.

clementine is still a child, so no matter how smart she may be her 8-9 years of life experience is just not enough to resist the manipulation of an insane ex-parent

Think about it this way, Clementine felt kinda betrayed by Lee for completely taking away her hopes of ever finding her parents. Sure, there was really nothing to be done about it, but that doesn't make her feelings any less real. For her to go and actively be more independent in her hopes of finding her parents, it really shows a strain there that is very realistic in its nature. It would be really absurd if Clementine didn't at least somewhat feel betrayed by Lee, and even more strange if she didn't act on it.

no one bit,Clem although she was getting braver throughout the game, still had getting to her parents as the number one priority. She knew she had to exhaust all options before finally giving up and seeing them as dead,it's tragic that a little girl had to go through this as sweet as Clem.Even in episode 5 when Lee is resting after coming back from Crawford she still wants to find them,i think she saw a lot of her dad in Lee.

You people keep talking about clems parents but you don't even know her father is black, sad.

^ Yes. That. As upset as I was that, in my game at least, Clem could trust Lee with and about everything except the most important thing...she's still a child. And the Stranger claimed he had her parents. I'm convinced he used that as leverage, and manipulated, lied, and threatened her into not telling Lee the truth.
