400 Days NITPIC THREAD

Hey peeps one play through so far:

vince- seems to pick the opposite course of action with tavia to who you shoot in the prison busi picked the ponzi scheme dude cos he was an ass who didn't care about anyone else but him self yet then goes on to be a team player ? and by that i mean i kill him and saved the rapist who seemed at the time more willing to help others and more remorsefull and more honest :P

Shell- complains when people are being killed or about to be yet her group is the one hunting down people and 'killing them' in bonnie's story ?? so if she knows about the 'walker food' being soylant green (people). she somehow has an issue with the random foreigner guy and romans way of doing things... but when it's her friend she suddenly unsure about the whole set up ?

russell- has no option to shoot nate ? to spare the old couple.. the guy is clearly a danger to anyone..and we see the old lady become a walker in shell's play through but what about her hubby ?

wyatt- since i chose him to leave the car and lost the rock paper shot gun game epically i might add, i felt this section drags on too long i opted to 'save the cop' and it just felt like i was moving him for ages with only a grey screen of nothing for the most part, till the odd walker showed up then unceremoniously dropping the cop like a sack of spuds with no care at all (kinda amusing) one shot done pick up cop again and repeat 6-7 times.boring lacked atmosphere imo.. and then finally the game moved on ....but why would he want to see eddie again after eddie left me to die 'when out side the car' for a revenge kill maybe ?

bonnie- when we first start her story she's flirting with leeland and when we start running away, whats the point in being able to move side ways when the path is straight ? when you try and move sideways bonnie seem to slow down and almsot gets stuck. clunky....why can't we avoid dee killing us ? she maybe a little pissed off with her hubby wanting bonnie but she decides to kill bonnie when she's supposedly running for her life or finding her hubby in the field..

other wise good dlc :D

I'm quite annoyed that I had to stay in the car after the Stone game. I thought the winner was supposed to go out.

may depend on your choice i picked to go with the gun and lost rps.

russel- you have the option to shoot nate but when you try the game stops you and nate calls your bluff...since nate doesn't show up with tavia why can't we shoot him as most people are walking away from him...no one wants this guy to follow them back right ? so are ttg actuallyt saving nate for season 2 ?

I thought it was good, not brilliant. But it DEFINITELY got me hyped for Season 2.

I'll nitpick that it was weird when they went to grab that shotgun on the prison bus. What phenomenal luck that between 3 convicts, none of them contested over who should grab it.

ANYWAY. I'm more interested about what changes our choices will make. I'm expecting camp-stayers and leavers will be reunited somewhat quickly after Season 2 if they have much presence at all. Much like how the whole "leave/stay behind" thing at the end of Ep.4 made about 20 minutes of difference.

Or one side dies and the other side makes a minor appearance (or at the very very least get a mention).

Finally, I'm wondering what this place they're going to is. Because it sounds A LOT like Woodbury. But it was quoted as being "north". Of course I'm only assuming the characters are still near Macon, which is quite sharply East of Woodbury.

The only part that I know occurs in Macon is the shooting that gets Vince sent to jail. Not to mention the cancer group must've lucked out to get back as far inland as they have.

Blah. It was good. But I think I ended with more questions than I had begun with.

Edit: I love how TellTale gave a nice middle-finger to all those people saying Carley might still be alive. Made my day.

Eddie did kill Nate's friend though that's why he was chasing them.

The only gripe I had for 400 Days was the ending. I didn't know who Tavia was, or what her true intentions were to bringing the survivors to her community. I didn't want to make decisions through HER, I wanted to play as the survivors, and ultimately decide for myself who stays and who goes.

But otherwise, this was a great DLC.

    look at his face lol

I thought that was weird too, but then I realized it's the handle of a screwdriver which is jammed in his eye. His eyeball shouldn't be so white, that's the problem.

I wouldn't call it epic, but it was a solid DLC. I laughed at several points, because the conversations (mainly the one on the prison bus at the beginning of Vince's story, and the back and forth between Wyatt and Eddie) were hilarious, and helped breath a little life into those characters, despite not having much screen time. It was also cool to see the fate of the other cancer survivors, and see how the stories were connected with each other.

If I got to nitpick, Wayett's and Eddie's actions were quite stupid. The whole "one of them stays in the car without a gun and the other one goes to check the wounded man" thing was a very bad planning on their part. They should either:
    - go both, or
    - one of them leaves the car and starts walking towards the body, the other one slowly backs the car to keep close. That way, if they were any danger, the person outside the car can quickly go back and they can flee.
They had survived so long, so I would expect them to be more savvy and careful at this point.
Although, overall the episode was quite good, if short.

    screw driver ?

looks like the muzzle of the shot gun has glitched through his face to me

Does anyone have a logical reason for Russel NOT leaving Nate? I mean, he up and walked out of his last group (if we assume he's not lying.) So, why stick around? Or, does sticking around not mean so much he's condoning the action as that he hasn't really had any growth since leaving his last murderous pal, and he's sliding back into quiet deference to an authority figure?

It was really the only moral end story decision that I couldn't logically follow going the other way.

I don't think it's actually Russell CHOOSING to stay with Nate, so much as being afraid to leave. I chose the "Let's kill them" option on my second playthrough, but even then, Nate just casually blows the old couple away and Russell is just standing there, horrified. He probably thought that Nate would kill him too, after seeing how casually he did it, if Russell did something that Nate didn't like.

Yeah. That's about the only way to square the circle, I think.

You hear two gunshots when Russel leaves Nate. Later, we see the old woman as one of Roman's watch dogs.

You know what this means? When he shot them, he didn't shoot them in the head. He either shot the old man twice, or he shot the old man and then shot the old woman, who was already shot, AGAIN, but not in the head, just to inflict more pain on her. I kind of prefer to think Nate did it this way, since it makes him an even crueler psychopath than if he just put two bullets into the old man.

The screenshot above makes it appear to be a screw driver or an icepick, but in Bonnie's game, it is clearly a shotgun muzzle.

This is the same cop from the prison bus

If you don't leave, I'm fairly certain that he shoots her in the chest. I don't think he'd shoot the old man twice, he'd just put one bullet in each and continue on his way. Who knows, maybe he only did it because Russell said they couldn't be friends. He genuinely looks pissed when Russell says "No."

They could have had a beautiful friendship. Roaming the post-apocalyptic south looking for tail. Oh, what could have been.

    here's an update -

the reviews are good mostly saying the same thing :P

has anyone found any difference's that only seem to happen in a certain order ?

I thought it was amazing, but still way too short. I also didn't really like the way it ended with the "who goes to the camp".
  • edited July 2013
Solid episode. I think it's a good lead into season 2.

If this is what season 2 will be like, then I am ready for greatness.

Well it was good, it just needs to be a little longer.

    Kinda reminded me of DAO.

russel walks away from nate is an asshole and trusts no one( but the family thing can change his mind)

russel stays with a total fruit loop goes with tavia anyway despite nate not being around ? (i'll have to replay this bit on my next run)
