What if Season 2 MC was custom

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
What if they gave us the ability to make the Season 2 Main Character ourselves?

We provide them their background through early dialogues and origins of how they got where they are through choices before beginning the game.

How will you feel and what will you do?

That would take a LOT of time to make that game.

That would be so cool, but like Higgs said, it would take a long time to put that in the game. Plus I would imagine it would take up a lot of disk space/memory / etc.

And we'd spend 150% more time making the character than playing.

The Sims teaches you a thing or two.

Maybe the MC's customizes features could be purely cosmetic?

And a Male and Female VoicePack for whichever you pick.

Then again, that could impose restrictions on the game's writing, having to make all the actions and dialog to/from the player very general.

    But then we couldn't get,

    "You know...you're...urban?"

I think a simpler idea would to have the main character a twin where the player can choose which twin to play as: the male or the female with very similar ideas and beliefs. Have the one not chosen be killed off early in the game.

Yeah exactly, maybe not the best idea.

I love this idea. I am so tired of having to play a male character in almost every game out there and I'd love to be able to play as a female in a Telltale game, especially in the walking dead. Seems simple enough to implement.

I think a female lead in the Walking Dead makes sense - that is, it make sense in all adventure games. Telltale Games do seem to be a progressive company - Lee is the first playable character of African descent since Maniac Mansion.

At this point, I don't care who the season 2 protagonist is. I'm confident TellTale will write them well enough for me to be engaged with them and relate to them, even if they aren't my race or gender. As long as they don't bring someone back from the dead.
