SHOULD everyone leave with Tavia?

edited July 2013 in The Walking Dead
There have been numerous threads with people asking how to achieve all of the survivors into going with Tavia. It seems as though people are starting their playthroughs over again to try and do things in the game differently. However, one question comes to mind if this is the case:

Should everyone leave with Tavia?

What I am guessing is in Season 2, Clementine will somehow stumble upon the gas station from 400 Days. Wether or not she will head to the survivor camp mentioned by Tavia or stay at the camp will be entirely up to how you ended 400 Days. What if Clementine gets to the camp, only to find that is is devoid of life? What if she finds someone ( Wyatt or Russell per say) to help take care of her as they journey to the camp?

Im considering starting another playthrough in which half of my survivors leave and half of them stay at the camp. Telltale really should have included a scouting option first. Something like "Part of our group will come check it out, and if it's legit, we will bring our whole group over."

I don't think EVERYONE should leave with Tavia, only about half of them of less. Because, I mean, this is The Walking Dead, after all. Something bad is gonna happen sooner or later.

I took all of them. To me it seems more likely (for story purposes) that Clementine comes across a big group of people surviving than a small campsite. I feel like the game tries to make you want to bring everyone along as well, which suggests that this group will have a part in Season 2. I don't know though, just a gut instinct. My guess is that we will see the ones that go with Tavia (because at least one person goes with her which is Bonnie) and the rest we don't hear from again or if Telltale are feeling like assholes we will come across their dead bodies maybe in the campsite!

I don't mind the group splitting up as long as all characters still make an appearance. For example, everybody but Vince left with Tavia for my game. The problem is, Vince was my favorite. So if it turns out that in season 2, you only see the group that came with Tavia, I would find that very disappointing. I want to keep my original first playthrough without rewinding (funner that way) but if Vince isn't in the game because of one dumb choice I made, I may end up needing to rewind.

I suspect that season 2 will take place around the ones that don't go. It would be really dull to play a whole season in a fully self-sustained compound, unless it turned out to be a truly terrible place that we have to escape from. I also would be shocked if Christ, Omid, and Clem all ended up in the same compound, by coincidence. I would find if more believable that they would come across the leftovers of 400 days, who have knowledge of a compound and possibly a general location.

It would be awesome if the compound Tavia is from is really one from the books like say woodbury, The hilltop (so we can meet Jesus), the kingdom (meet king Ezekiel), or possibly even she could be on of the saviors (meet up with Neegan). Oh but that's all just wishful thinking lol.

I would like to say we all live or die together, so I do not abandon my fellow group members, and I would like to add that the line you have to say to get Russel were you mention going to Stateburo really sounded like a lie, could be just me.

The good thing about real life is not knowing what will happen next. It could be brilliant if I could control it, but hey, I can't... played it like I felt the characters. Russel somehow didn't want to come... his bad luck - or everyone elses, or mine... I don't know.

    I'll find out eventually.

I hope that the game doesn't get mixed up with the comic, it'd just bring problems, IMO. Welcome to the forums, by the way :)

I don't think that it could happen, since everyone can go with Tavia.. She seemed an honest person, I think that the community is actually a thing. Perhaps we encounter problems before we make it to the Safe area; there's a car accident, Tavia dies or whatever.

I'm curious about Lee's last words, too. You can tell Clementine to go find a group, to find Omid and Christa, or not to trust anyone. I wonder if this will have a major impact on Season two.

totally agreed, i don't want any major references to the comics, and tavia's group being something that has been in the comics is quite a major one.

I had the same thought. Everyone seems to be assuming that going with Tavia is the "best" ending. But this is The Walking Dead. What if something awful happens to the characters because they went with her? It may not even be a matter of Tavia and her group turning out to be bad guys like the Governor. As anyone who's been reading the comics knows, Rick's group has made several attempts at building a new life in "safe" communities, and it's never as simple as it sounds.

I do think it sounds like Season 2 will revolve around Tavia's community, so going with her is probably a safe bet at least in terms of possibly seeing the 400 Days characters again. But even if they have a place that's relatively safe from the walkers, there's still so much that can wrong.

people seem to be thinking that making everybody go with Tavia is the perfect playthrough, but as we should know by now there is no such thing as a perfect playthrough of TWDG, i think it will be equally as bad whatever combination of people go or stay

Well, only Russell stayed at the camp... It's not racism, I just... don't like him.

It would have been racism if Vince didn't come as well.

I did two save files. One is when all of them went with Tavia while the other one is when half of them stayed (Vince, Shel & Becca, in my playthrough).

I think this is "safer" and allows the player more options when playing Season 2.
