Telltale patching

Yesterday I had to re-download The Walking Dead to get the latest version, so I could install 400 Days, but it made me wonder, wouldn't it be easier for both Telltale servers and to the customers if instead of making people to re-download the whole thing again, there would be separate patch files which would fix most of the issue? Every other company releases separate patch files which you can install over the existing files.
