Achievements/Trophies In The Walking Dead

Does anyone else like that they added a couple new trophies in the DLC? In the main game, you just got an achievement for completing each chapter and episode, but I liked the little optional ones that were in 400 days. Just gives you another reason to play again and try something new. I hope they add more optional achievements\trophies in Season 2 and the future seasons. What do you think about optional achievements?

    I dislike it.

And this comes from a gamer with over 63k gamerscore. :p

I play these games for the story, and I'll replay it for the story. I don't want to "have" to play it to get an achievement.

I see. That's the thing though, it's optional

Not if you want to maintain a 100% completion on the game as a whole.

    Oh, ok

Of course, I suppose it's also possible I'm biased since this is "new", and the previous games just had them as chapter completion unlocks.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of achievements, either, but I thought it'd be good for walking dead because there are so many different choices to make that let you experience different things. Some people only play games one way through, and never know they're missing something really big- if there's an achievement, they'll look at that and try to find it

Oh, you misunderstand me then - I love achievements.

I'm just not fond of the optional nature of the ones in 400 days. :p

    Strongly agree.

I dislike it because every time that thing pops up, it yanks me out of the story. I disliked them in The Last of Us for the same reason (though getting a trophy in TLoU was extremely rare, and I think you could even turn off the notifications if you wanted to).

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the new achievements/trophies either. I thought it was brilliant that the only ones you could get in Season 1 were for completing a chapter. It made it feel like more of a "classic" gaming experience--the only reason to choose a certain option was because that's what felt right to you in the moment, and there was no artificial reason to go back and replay a chapter just to earn an achievement. People who do replay chapters usually do so because they're genuinely curious to see what happens if they play differently.

It just felt cooler not to have them, like Telltale was emphasizing that the game was really 100% about the story experience :\

You can definitely turn off trophy notifications!

I like these optional ones! Managed to win rock paper scissors after going to the Main Menu only once :)

I actually won the game twice in a row threw two play through. I honestly though it was impossible to lose until my final play through lol.

I also forgot to mention that we literally tied 6 times in a row before I won:)
