Why does everyone like Nate?

I mean he is an interesting character, but haven't we got enough psychos in this game?

Number one rule in writing: there's always room for more psychopaths! ...At least that's what I tell myself. :p

Ahem. Personally, I'd like to see Nate pop up in S2 as a one episode antagonist or something just because his complete unpredictability makes him so interesting, and certainly livens up the story.

With the other psychos in the game--the St. Johns, the Stranger--it's pretty easy to predict what they'll do. Or at least you have a vague idea. With Nate I had absolutely no idea what his next move would be, much less how to counter it, and that kept me on my toes and terrified throughout Russell's story. I can't really blame anybody for wanting to experience that again--adrenaline rushes are fun! ;)

As a lady, he creeped me out. I guess its typical of what you'd see in an end of the world scenario. There are going to be psychos looking for tail. As for the love for him, I just dont know, lol.

I liked Nate UP until he killed the couple. He had Russels best interest through out the whole episode and eddie killed his best friend apparently so I mean he is justified to be a little psycho. Ultimately I think he has the potential to be a good guy

I dont know about being a good guy but his psycho crazy face is hilarious.

It's because Nate (much like Lilly) is a much more open character when it comes to the views of how to handle grief. I felt like telltale did this with Lilly however they never revealed that much.

With Lilly we got a small insight in the after-effects of grief and the "snapping" moment, however it ended too quickly.

With Nate I felt really bad for him, and I really wanted to help him, which is exactly why I stuck with him until the end. I knew there was some sort of person missing in his life and he needed that and Rusell seemed to replace that person in him.

Like I said, and I'll keep saying it, Nate is a great character to use to view the different perspectives of grief. To Nate, he's doing what he wants to, but to others he's "crazy" and judged for his ways of handling grief.

To be honest, they're not the best ways but since it's the apocalypse nothing is stopping him from expressing the demon that is inside of him. If you want to find out why I like him so much, there's a discussion thread and a thread I made discussing what I think he was like during Season 1 and what he'll hopefully be like during Season 2.

Nate reminds me very much of The Joker, specifically the one from The Dark Night, because he does whatever the he wants. He has no one to protect, no one to care about. He is also very realistic for this reason because I feel many people would go insane like Nate if an apocalypse ever did happen. I always wondered why so many people were calm in a "zombies invading the world" scenario in Season 1. Nate represents the people who didn't hang on to their morals or family.

He's prolly the most realistic character in 400 days. Hopefully he has some humanity left in that small heart of his. Telltale did such a great job creating this character, I have no doubt they wouldn't use him again. It added so much to the character when he just shot those old people without hesitation. When he asks Russell if he should take all their stuff, he has no sympathy in his eyes, no remorse. Nate is a character fans love to hate, and those type of characters, the ones you really hate for the horrible things they do, are the best, IMO

    That was from another thread

Because he was one of the few characters that seemed to show no morality and never hesitated to do anything, which is fresh change considering that in season one, everyone would do some diplomatic vote on whether to steal from an abandoned vehicle... or just ask Lee to decide everything.

I can't stand Nate. A lot of that for me those is because I wanted to kill him, was given options that made it seem like I could and then was denied it. If anyone did that "is she a 10" thing to me like he did, the first second I got he'd never get the chance to do it again.
