Shel's choices
Ok first ever time making one of these .. anyway
I thought Shel had the most choice focused episode in 400 days so i'm curios of the choices people made.
[B]Choice 1 - Taking stock
- Did you let Becca oversee the guns?
I personally didn't as the only thing I knew about Becca was that she played guitar and Shel was trying to keep her away from horror stuff. She still got to help with the torch's anyway
Choice 2 - The intruder
- Did you kill the thief or let him go?
I was on the fence but eventually agreed to kill him, it was hard but we couldn't keep him and we couldn't let a threat go. Turns out it was the right choice as the guy ends up killing Boyd if you let him live.
Choice 3 - Go fish
- Did you cheat at cards?
Didn't cheat as i didn't see the point
Choice 4 - Run or gun?
- Did you flee or put down Stephanie?
I was really stuck on this one however i eventually picked up the gun. The reasons generally were that i felt I had to stand by my original decision why should I bail when it was my turn?, We couldn't save Stephanie it was Shel kill her or someone else, plus Steph did try to take everything and leave. Finally Becca was right where would they go? Shel is no Lee, Kenny or Lilly; she dosn't seem like a fighter and add an annoying child and her survival rate was really low.
Choice 5 - Go or stay?
- Did Shel go with Tavia in your story?
She refused making her the only one who didnt go, it kind of sucked but the alternative was leaving Russel and Wyatt so I don't mind.
Anyway sorry if this was too long but what were your decisions on your first playthrough?

Did you let Becca oversee the guns?
I let her oversee the guns, as long as she was careful with them.
2.The Intruder
Did you kill the thief or let him go?
I agreed to kill him. He broke in wanting to steal from the group. I also suspected that he may have had friends wanting to invade us, so I didn't want to take that risk.
3. Go fish
Did you cheat at cards?
Nope. I'm a fair player.
4. Run or gun?
Did you flee or put down Stephanie?
I fled. I was really torn on this. It was against group rules to steal and flee from the group, yet Roman made the group more oppressive because of rules like this. First off I didn't feel it was safe to leave the group, and traitors must be dealt with for the safety of the group. On the other hand, Becca admitted she snuck out of the place every now and then, so it probably would have been a matter of time until Roman put her in the same position as Stephanie. After about 10 minutes of deliberation, I ran.
5.Go or stay?
Did Shel go with Tavia in your story?
She went with Tavia. Sure is safer than living on the outside, I guess.
- Did you let Becca oversee the guns?
Yes. I wanted Shel to show some trust in her, and I figured she's got to have some familiarity with firearms, just because of the reality of the world she is living in. Of course I also had Shel hover over her and ask if she needed help.
Choice 2 - The intruder
- Did you kill the thief or let him go?
I had Shel voice support for recruiting him into the group. When it was clear that it wasn't in the cards, I had Shel reluctantly go along with killing him, as letting him go potentially put Becca at risk.
Choice 3 - Go fish
- Did you cheat at cards?
No, I had Shel play fair.
Choice 4 - Run or gun?
- Did you flee or put down Stephanie?
When Roman initially told Shel about Stephanie I had her say that this situation was different from the intruder, in that Stephanie was one of their own. With Roman undeterred I had Shel grab the keys after opening the door, and try to talk Becca into running. Becca of course, wasn't on board. When Roman came back and said it was time however, I decided to have Shel grab the keys and take off. It just seemed like the right move considering Stephanie had been a friend at one point, and Shel seemed to be struggling with raising Becca in a way that would allow her to keep her humanity. Killing Stephanie would seem to work against that.
Choice 5 - Go or stay?
- Did Shel go with Tavia in your story?
She went along with Tavia and the rest of the group.
- Did you let Becca oversee the guns?
Sure. It saves life now.
Choice 2 - The intruder
- Did you kill the thief or let him go?
Let him go. I'm not killing defenceless people. I do not want Becca to witness it. I do not want Becca to stop caring about other people life.
Choice 3 - Go fish
- Did you cheat at cards?
No cheating.
Choice 4 - Run or gun?
- Did you flee or put down Stephanie?
Drive away. Not killing defenceless people. I didn't want to be isolated. I didn't want to live with people who kill friends. I didn't want Becca to grow up in such society. Would you agree, as Lee, to kill Kenny for stealing food?
People think that safety and survival are most important in game. They are wrong. St Johns, bandits, Nate - they know how to survive. Staying human when zombies walks around is most important.
Choice 5 - Go or stay?
- Did Shel go with Tavia in your story?
Yes they went.
Did you let Becca oversee the guns?
I thought that telling her no would be like treating her like a child, so I let her oversee the guns, but I also told her to be careful with them.
2.The Intruder
Did you kill the thief or let him go?
I had no idea what to do. I had to pause the game to figure out what should be done about him. It took me 10 minutes to decide. In the end, I decided to set him free because it felt like the right thing to do to me. I immediately felt bad when it ended up killing Boyd, but it was a choice that I made and I'm willing to stick by it.
3. Go fish
Did you cheat at cards?
I ain't no cheater.
4. Run or gun?
Did you flee or put down Stephanie?
I honestly liked Stephanie and thought that she was an okay gal, even when she tried to escape. When I learned that Roman made the group more oppressive because of rules he made, my gut told me the truck stop isn't as safe as it used to be anymore. I really wasn't okay with having to kill Stephanie and was hoping that there would be some way out of the execution situation. As soon as I saw the keys in the drawer, I jumped at the first opportunity I got to get the hell outta there.
5.Go or stay?
Did Shel go with Tavia in your story?
Since I fled from the truck stop in the RV, Shel went with Tavia.
-I let the guy go. It was the right thing to do.
-I didn't cheat.
-Drive away. At that point, I still retained my humanity from the first season. Besides, it seems like the logical choice if you let the thief go earlier. The only people that agreed to let him go were Boyd (who's dead), and Steph (who was caught stealing). I wasn't about to stay with all the aggressive people who wanted to kill the thief.
-Shel came with Tavia. Hoping Roman returns next season. I really like the idea of him becoming a major antagonist.
-I let the guy go, but I was sure it was gonna bite me back.
-Why cheating? Where's the fun?
-At first, I wanted to let Steph go, but when Roman said she stole all our stuff for her own selfish reasons, I was shocked. I liked Steph. Her betrayal broke me. I did the right thing for me and for the group, but I still regret killing her.
I cheated there, too. I kind of expected Becca making some comment on it. When Shel went out to talk to Roman, I didn't think she had her cards face down. I thought maybe Becca would take a look, see that she cheated, and call her out on it. "You did have a 7, you liar!" Would've lightened the mood a tiny bit before Shel had to lay the bad news on her.
[B]Choice 1 - Taking stock
I did because the world they live in is so brutal that I would want her not to be afraid around guns and learn to handle them responsibly
Choice 2 - The intruder
I hated to make this decision but I chose to kill the thief because it was too risky to let him live--he could very well come back and kill one of the group or organize a raid
Choice 3 - Go fish
"Didn't cheat as i didn't see the point" Same
Choice 4 - Run or gun?
I was torn here too. On the one hand, I was not happy that she was going to steal from the group and run and I did consider the deterioration of the group as a factor which made me feel bad for her. Yet she knew what the consequences of stealing would be and chose to do it and her sentence was going to be the same whether I did it or not. Therefore--consistency was not a issue for me in terms of my prior decisions.
I chose to run because my sister seemed set on escaping from time to time and I was afraid that eventually she would end up in Stephanie's places if caught--even if she didn't steal. So I ran to protect her.
Choice 5 - Go or stay?
Yes.
